Abstract
PURPOSE: To support a moving table under static prossure with a suitable clearance without bending a guide member by holding the bearing face of the cantilever- shaped guide member with the aid of the force equal to the force affecting on the bearing face from the back face.
CONSTITUTION: An auxiliary member 10 for supporting is independently mounted, whose face 15 is opposed to the back face 12 of a bearing face 2, 6 of a guide member 7 building a static bearing. A bellows member 13 is tightly put between the back face 12 of the guide member and the auxiliary member face 15, with is contact area with face 15 amounting to the bearing effective area of the static bearing 7. Oil passages 16, 17, 20 are made, communicating pockets 3, 8 of the static bearing 7 with the bellows member 13. The force working on the both faces of the guide member 7 is balanced to eliminate bending of the guide member 7, resulting smaller clearance variation of the static bearing.
