Abstract
PURPOSE: To greatly reduce the tensile force applied to the cooling pippes of a steam condenser, by providing a stopper on a side of the steam condenser body to prevent an expansion joint of the steam condenser from being elongated in a direction.
CONSTITUTION: An inlet water chamber 2a and an outlet water chamber 2b are provided at both the ends of the body 1 of the steam condenser. Pipe plates 3a, 3b are provided between the body of the steam condenser and these water chambers. The cooling pipes 4 are fitted to the pipe plates 3a, 3b by a pipe expansion method. A connecting body 5 is mounted on the top of the steam condenser body 1. A hot well 6 is attached to the bottom of the body 1. Steam flows from the connecting body 5 into the condenser body 1 and exchanges heat with cooling watr flowing through the cooling pipes 4 so that the steam is condensed to water and reserved in the hot well 6. At that time, the elongation difference between the body 1 and the cooling pipes 4 due to the temperature difference and the thermal expansion coefficient difference is absorbed by the expansion joint 7. The expansion joint 7 is prevented by the stopper 8C from being elongated rightward in respect to Fig. but can contract freely. Therefore, the tensile force applied to te cooling pipes 4 is greatly reduced.
