Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent a fan from overheating by virtue of the reduction of exhaust gas temperature and cooling air flowing in its shaft, by making the impeller shaft hollow with one end being exposed to the outdoor air and the other end being open to the impeller's suction side.
CONSTITUTION: When an impeller 6 is driven by a motor 5, exhaust gas is discharged from an exhaust chamber 15, which makes a combustion unit 13 negative in pressure and fresh air id supplied through an air passage 14. Since part of air taken in an air passage 12 flows through an hollow air passage 11 of a shaft 4 having its one end being open to the atmospheric air and the other end being open to the suction side of the impeller 6 and taken in by the impeller 6, the exhaust gas is reduced in temperature. The reduction in exhaust temperature makes it density increase and also makes the impeller's load decrease to improve its blowing efficiency. In addition, air flowing in the shaft 4 cools the fan 1 and eliminates its overheating.
