Abstract

PURPOSE:To perform branching, by providing magnetic belts on both the sides of a track at a branch point and a confluence point and automatically operating the belts and the magnets of moving boby which moves under electric power control. CONSTITUTION:The track 1 consists of a main track B and a sidetrack B divided from each other at the branch point P. Magnetic conveyors B13, B23 are provided on both the sides of the track 1 at the branch point. Each of moving bodies MC1- MC3 has magnets 2, 3 at both its sides and is attracted to the magnetic conveyor by energizing one of the magnets 2, 3 so that the moving body is guided into the main track A or the sidetrack B. Magnetic conveyors B24-B26 are provided along the sidetrack B over its length. The magnet 3 of the moving body MC3 in the sidetrack is always energized. At the confluence point Q, the drive of the magnetic cenveyors B13, B23 is controlled so that the moving bodies MC2, MC3 do not collide against each other.
