Abstract

PURPOSE: To miniaturize an operational magnet of an electromagnetic clutch in the contrivance of transmitting the rotation of a crankshaft to a cooling fan with use of the electromagnetic clutch.
CONSTITUTION: An over-running clutch 7 is installed between the driven side of a clutch 5 and a cooling fan. When the over-running clutch 7 has the load to a fan 8 set at a settled value, its drive side 7a gets separated from the driven side, otherwise it does not power transmission over a certain settled value. In consequence, fan loss torque over the settled value does not transmit to the side of the electromagnetic clutch 5 resulting in giving no sliding on the frictional surfaces of this clutch even using the one with smaller capacity as an operational magnet of the electromagnetic clutch.
