Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve idle drive in such a way that air heated by exhaust is led around the outside of a low speed fuel passage of a carburetor in order to heat mixed air for low speed.
CONSTITUTION: Fuel in a float chamber 44 is fed through a main jet 48, a main fuel passage 52 and a main nozzle 50 which opens to a Venturi 40, at the same time, the low speed system is fed through a low speed jet 54, a low speed fuel passage 56 and an idle port 60 to the passage 22 near to a throttle valve 42. A heat exchnger 36 surrounds this low speed fuel passage 56, heating is done by flowing air from an air cleaner 30 through an air passage 72 which passes through the inside of an exhaust manifold 14, when the engine is involved in low temperature, this heated air is led through an opened valve 34 into the heat exchanger.
