Abstract

PURPOSE: To wash inside surface of a separating membrane satisfactorily without installing a high-press. bomb or an air compressor specially, by producing high- speed gas/liq. mixture by means of a jet pump equipped on a bypath between a feed pump and a raw liq. feed opening, and by washing the separator with the mixture.
CONSTITUTION: In treating raw liq., it is delivered by the operation of a feed pump 6 through feed lines 9, 91 to tubular membrane separators 1, 1,---, where it is treated. In washing the separators 1, 1,---, ON-OFF valves 8, 18; 13, 14 are opened and an ON-OFF valve 11 is closed, at the same time ON-ORR valves 22, 24 set on both sides of a chemicals tank 19 are also closed. Then the pump 6 is started so that raw liq. is injected through a nozzle 121 of a jet pump 12, drawing air in through an air-sucking opening 123. The resulting pressurized gas/liq. mixt. is introduced into the separators 1, 1,--- through a check valve 15. When the washing of the membrane is finished, raw liq. treatment is reopened by means of the separators 1, 1,---, with the valve 11 opened, and the valves 13, 14 closed
