Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a rigid automotive body of a body skeletal structure at the front of a vehicle by rationally forming the skeleton. CONSTITUTION:An engine room 7 is formed by connecting an inner fender plate 2 welded with a side member 1 of hat shape in section, a dash panel 4 welded with a cross member 3, and a front panel 6 coupled by a connector 5, a frame-like skeleton is formed by connecting the front end of the member 1 to a front cross member 8 and the rear end of the member 1 to the member 3, the rear end of the member 1 is branched into upper and lower members 9 and 10, the upper member 9 is brought into contact with a dash panel 4 and is welded to the panel 4, the lower member 10 is welded to the dash and floor panels 4 and 11 to a reinforcing member 12, and the member 3 is brought at both ends thereof into contact with the inside surface of the member 10 and is connected thereto in order to thus construct an automotive body skeletal structure.
