Abstract

PURPOSE:To simplify the method of forming images and achieve the reduction in the frequencies of accident occurrence by sucking inks in the through-holes of a screen-form member according to image information and depositing the inks on a printing medium by the electrostatic attraction of a counter electrode. CONSTITUTION:The apparatus is so constituted that a screen-form member 1 is moved in such a manner as to let its linear electrodes 3 intersect at a right angle to the capillary groove 5 of an ink feeder 6 whereby one through-hole 2 from each linear electrode 3 corresponds to the capillary groove 5. As pulse voltages are applied to each linear electrode according to image information, the inks are sucked into the through-holes 2 opposing to the capillary groove 5 of the member 1 according to the image information. The inks having been sucked into the through-holes are let to fly up to a printing medium 12 and are deposited on the printing medium 12 by the electrostatic attraction of a counter electrode 8. Thereby, the image according to the image information is formed on the printing medium. The use of the linear electrodes in this way enables controlling of electrodes to be simplified.
