Abstract

PURPOSE: To return a part of compressed refrigerant to the suction side by opening a valve provided on the cylinder wall of a compressor in the starting operation of heating for improving the starting characteristic of heating in a low temperature.
CONSTITUTION: When a cooling-heating switch is switched over to the heating operation, a switch to be operated by a sinsor is electrically connected to close a valve 16. Since a valve body 13 is released from high pressure refrigerant, it opens a connecting hole 2 provided on the wall of a cylinder 3 by the force of a spring 14. Consequently, the refrigernat being compressed in the cylinder 3 is conducted into the suction side 10 through a gas discharge passage 7, and the temperature and the pressure in the suction side 10 are raised for shifting a compressor 1 into a high temperature and high pressure operation rapidly. When the temperature of discharged refrigerant reaches a fixed level, the switch is operated by the sensor to open the valve 16, and the cdompressor l is shifted into a steady operation
