Abstract

PURPOSE: To decrease the noise without lowering the air force capacity of an eddy- current fan by providing a notch on a portion of a liner.
CONSTITUTION: A notch 93 is provided in a liner 97 which partitions at a central portion between a starting end portion 91 and an ending portion 92 of a portion opposing the outer peripheral surface of an impeller 2. By so doing, the notch 93 functions as a buffer space portion to the pressure, thereby the high pressure difference between the pressure in the vicinity of the vomitting portion (d) and the pressue in the vicinity of the suction portion (S) is gradually and step by step decreased. Thus, the generation of the pressure variance due to the rotation of the impeller 2 and therefore the generation of siren sound is decreased, thereby the decrease of noise is achieved without lowering the air force power of the eddy- current fan
