Abstract

PURPOSE: To manufacture fine calcium aluminate nomosulfate hydrate (MSH) of high purity by blending CaO component raw material, CaSO4 component raw material and Al2O3 component raw material of below a specified diameter in a predetermined ratio and by reacting the blend in the presence of water.
CONSTITUTION: A blend is prepared consisting of 0.8W1.2 mols of Al2O3 component raw material of a diameter below 30 μ, e.g. Al2O3, 2.4W3.5 mols of CaO component raw material of a diameter below 50 μ, e.g. Ca(OH)2 and 0.8W1.2 mols of CaSO4 component raw material of a diameter below 50 μ, e.g. CaSO4. 2H2O. This blend is then wet reacted in the presence of water at 100W200°C for 1W3 hr to manufacture MSH. Hardened calcium aluminate trisulfate hydrate (TSH) manufactured using this MSH is suitable for use as a building material, etc. and has very high strength.
