Abstract

PURPOSE: To produce a fine diameter α semihydrate gypsum crystaline fiber by the process which comprises calcination of powdered gypsum to form a calcined gypsum containing a specified amount of soluble anhydrous gypsum, and heating under pressure of the gypsum in a slurry made by agitation of the calcined gypsum in water.
