Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent all the hands of a watch from fluctuating with the use of a single spring by exerting a load other than a calendar advancement upon a wheel having a strong torgue.
CONSTITUTION: A spring 4 for pushing the cylindrical side of the outer circumference of a data advancing pawl 3 is made integral with a date wheel holder 5 which is fixed to the plate of a watch. As a result, a data advancing wheel 1 is supplied with its rotating force from a gear train so that it rotates once for every 24 hours. In case the data advancing pawl 3 fails to engage with a data wheel 8 when the pawl 3 advances the wheel 8 one tooth, the spring 4 pushes the cylindrical side 3a to reduce the backlash of the gear train between the wheel 1 and a drive rotor thereby to determine the position of the tooth of the gear to which a hand is attached. Thus, a load for unidirectionally reducing the backlash of the gear is applied to the wheel 1 having a strong torque to strengthen the spring 4 for the application of the load so that the respective hands of second, minute and hour can be prevented from fluctuating by means of the single spring 4.
