Abstract
PURPOSE: To accurately set the minute hand of a crystal watch to an accurate time by stepwisely shifting the hand on a minute scale at one minute pitch by turning a crown.
CONSTITUTION: When a knob 10 is pulled, a zero set lever 33 is turned to be engaged with a heart cam 32 to rotate the cam 32 to sort a second hand integral with a second shaft 25 in ±30 seconds so as to set to zero second. The second threaded cylinder 23 inserted fixedly into the second shaft 25 is simultaneoulsy rotated to rotate a minute transmission wheel 26, a minute wheel 27, a minute threaded cylinder 28, a day wheel 29 and an hour wheel 30 to set hour and minute hands secured to minute threaded cylinder 28 and hour wheel 30, respectively to zero. When the crown 10 is turned in this state, the cylinder 28 tends to rotate with respect to the minute wheel 27. Since a pawl 41 rides on the teeth of an index wheel 40 at this time, fingers gripping the crown feels resistance. When the pawl 41 rides over the crest of the teeth, force is applied in advancing direction of the crown. Thus, the cylinder 28 is stepwisely moved over one tooth of the wheel 40 to accurately correct the minute pitch of this watch.
