Abstract

PURPOSE:To eliminate air bubbles and clogging readily without removing the head by preventing the ink drops being injected from arriving at recording paper with a gutter and circulating the ink through changing over of valves thereby removing the air bubbles of the ink in the head and eliminating the clogging of the head. CONSTITUTION:When printing failure owing to production of air bubbles, etc. occurs, a gutter 8 is elevated by a solenoid or the like. Solenoid valves 6, 7 are then opened and closed and a pump 5 is energized. As a result, the ink circulates through the filter 3, head 1, gutter 8 for blocking the arrival of ink drops at recording paper 2 and ink tank 4. The air bubbles are exhausted through the vent hole of the tank 4, whereby the air bubbles in the head 1 are removed. When the valves 6, 7 are closed and opened, the nozzle clogging of the head 1 is removed by the ink which is boosted by the pump 5, thus the removal of the air bubbles and clogging may be readily and surely accomplished without removing the head.
