Abstract

PURPOSE: To effectively use the charge of a capacitor, by detecting a voltage proportional to the terminal voltage of the capacitor to control rectified outputs resulting from the outputs of DC-AC inverters for main power and auxiliary power connected in parallel with the capacitor.
CONSTITUTION: An input AC voltage Vi is rectified to a non-stable DC voltage by a bridge rectifier 20 and the capacitor 21. The DC voltage is changed into a raised or lowered high-frequency voltage by the DC-AC inverter for main power. The high-frequency voltage is applied to a rectification smoothing circuit 23 to supply a stable DC voltage Vo to a load. Similar operation is effected through the DC-AC inverter 24 for auxiliary power to supply a stable DC voltage through a bridge rectifier 25 and a capacitor 26. The voltage proportional to the terminal voltage of the capacitor 21 for both the power main and the auxiliary power is detected by a power failure detection circuit 27 to detect the supply failure of the input AC voltage Vi. When the supply failure is detected, a power failure signal C is generated to reduce the combined output. Thus, an allowable instantaneous power failure time can be varied depending on the condition of the load and the charge of the capacitor 21 can be effectively used.
