Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the deterioration of the cross modulation properties and others by avoiding a big change of the bias conditions for the differential amplifier of the next step when the gain control is given. CONSTITUTION:The collector voltage of transistor Tr11, i.e., the base voltage of differential amplifier 21 of the next step is decided by the sum of the collector current of Tr11 and 13 plus the value of load resistance 15. Thus, the base voltage of amplifier 21 can be kept constant as long as the sum of the collector current is constant. Now if the potential at point A is lowered and the collector current flowing to Tr11 is reduced, the collector current of Tr12 is reduced simultaneously. As a result, the base voltage of Tr13 increases and also the collector current of Tr13 increases. And the sum of the collector current becomes nearly constant between Tr11 and 13. In case this relation is satisfied substantially, the base voltage of amplifier 21 can be kept nearly constant even with the gain control given via the gain control amplifier of the preceding step.
