Abstract
PURPOSE: To enable the air bubble position of the level to be detected as an electric signal by processing the signals received in ultrasonic transmitter-receivers.
CONSTITUTION: When the ultrasonic pulses from ultrasonic transmitter-receivers 5a, 5b are simultaneously radiated, a part thereof collide with an air bubble 3 and reflect based on the difference in impedance of liquid 4 and air bubble 3. The rest pass through the liquid and arrive at the transmitter-receivers in the opposite positions. At this time, the pulses reflected by the air bubble 3 are received in the respective transmitter-receivers after the time ta or tb and the pulses of the transmitter-receivers in the opposite positions are received after the time tc. Hence, the times ta, tb are extracted as electric signals based on the outputs of the transmitter- receivers 5a, 5b, whereby the position of the air bubble, i.e., the inclination of the level to be measured is detected.
