Abstract

PURPOSE: To eliminate stress corrosion cracking of piping, by reducing the difference of temperatures across the piping.
CONSTITUTION: No fluid flows in the piping 2 because a sealing valve 3 is ever closed. The piping is equipped with temperature sensing units 11W14 at certain intervals to detect temperature differences by means of sensors 21, 22 which are connected with a controller 4 for controlling a power source 5 for heating elements. When the temperature difference reaches a certain level, the power source 5 is turned on to evenly heat the piping 2 on both sides by means of the heaters, which can eliminate the stress corrosion cracking of the piping 2.
