Abstract
PURPOSE: To reduce the generation of noxious components without detracting driving faculty by arranging an air control valve which opens and closes according to the driving condition, in the intake passage of an engine.
CONSTITUTION: To the intake passage 10 on the downstream of a throttle valve 14 equipped with a carburetor 4 which communicates to an engine 2, an air feeding passage 16 equipped with an air amount control apparatus 26 is allowed to communicate. Into the negative pressure chamber 34 of said apparatus 26, the intake pipe negative pressure just above the throttle valve 14 in perfect closure is introduced through a pipe 32, and a control valve 28 is opened and cloced. The numeral 46 designates a control valve device, and by three leaves of diaphragms 56, 58, and 62 fixed on one rod 64, a first pressure chamber 48 in which the exhaust pressure in an exhaust pipe 8 operates, a first air opening chamber 50, a second pressure chamber 52 in which the pressure on the downstream of the throttle valve 44 in the passage 16 operates, and a second air opening chamber 54 are formed in division. Due to the pressure difference between the first and second pressure chambers 48 and 52, a valve 66 is opening-closing-controlled, and the negative pressure transmission amount to a negative pressure chamber 34 is varied according to the driving condition.
