Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent destruction of a cooler or pipes by installing a rising safety pipe in connection with a pressure reduction device and a cooler.
CONSTITUTION: A rising safety pipe 21 is connected between a pressure reduction device 11 and opening-and-closing valves 12 to 15 extending from coolers 6 to 9, whose open end 22 is located higher than the head of water to be supplied for the coolers 6 to 9 and lower than the head found by subtracting a specific value from the head of druable pressure of the coolers 6 to 9. While cooling water reducing in pressure by the pressure reduction device 11 currently flow through the coolers 6 to 9 and those pipes, the cooling water at the inlets of the coolers 6 to 9 can be kept under supply pressure to prevent discharge from the open end 22. If the coolers 6 to 9 or the pipes are blocked to stop water, the cooling water from the pressure deceleration device 11 is discharged from the open end 22 to prevent destruction of the coolers 6 to 9 or the pipes.
