Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide a wave power generator wherein seawater is used for cooling the wave power generator, the vertical movement of a buoy is utilized for the circulation of seawater thereby to automatically carry out the circulation of seawater using a circulating water pump or the like.
CONSTITUTION: A cooler 5 is installed at the upper part of a generator 1, the cooler 5 and the outer part of the buoy 2 are connected to each other by means of a cooling pipe 6, and outlet and inlet ports 7 and 8 of the cooling pipe 6 at the outside of the buoy 2 so that both ports are not faced with each other. Air which has been heated to a high temperature by the heat from the generator 1 is cooled at the part of the cooler 5, whereby the temperature of the cooling water is raised, but the cooling water is circulated by the vertical movement of the buoy 2 and the cooling water within the cooler 5 is constantly maintained in a cool state. In this case, the cooling water flows from the lower port 7 to the upper port 8 of the cooling pipe 6 at the time where the buoy 2 rises up, whereas it flows from the upper port 8 to the lower port 7 at the time where the buoy 2 descends. According to this device, cooling water can be automatically circulated and the generator 1 can be effectively cooled.
