Abstract

PURPOSE: To remarkably reduce the water content of dehydrated cake by expanding rear half outer cylinder and screw shaft in conical or stepwise shape and reducing the gaps therebetween according to the outlet direction to enhance the compression efficiency.
CONSTITUTION: Since a cylindrical filter outer column 2 and screw shaft 4 are enlarged in diameter toward the vicinity of a dehydrating cake exhaust port 5 with compression area increased and gap between the inner wall of the column 2 and the surface of the shaft 4 decreased smaller in a screw press type dehydrator, cake sludge fed toward the rear portion of expanded portions 2', 4' of conical shape at the column 2 and shaft 4 is decreased in thickness as compared with the front half before dehydrating. The cake sludge is dehydrated from both sides if only the portions of the shaft 5 expanded conically is hollow and composed of filter.
