Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the efficiency of gas evolution, and to generate a large quantity of gas, by thermal decomposition of water on the cathode surface heated red and by ordinary electrolysis of water with a comducted current density of the cathode equal to or higher than a negative resistant range. CONSTITUTION:Direct or pulse electric current is made to flow from the anode 4 to the cathode 5 in a solution, e.g., 15 wt% KOH aqueous solution, in the electric cell 1 from the direct current source 6. The gas generated is collected in the dome- shaped anode 4, discharged from the nozzle 4a, sent through the solenoid valve 9 to the gas refining device, dried and led to the torch. The two electrodes 12 and 13 introduced in the anode 4 is used for controlling liquid level. When a liquid level rises above the top of the electrode of the higher liquid level 12, the solenoid valve 9 is closed through the control circuit 14.
