Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent the electrification on the inner wall of the valve glass by coating the semiconducting glass composed mainly of V2O5, BaO and P2O5 and featuring the specific resistance of 108W1014Ωcm.
CONSTITUTION: With installation of semiconducting glass 6 featuring the proper specific resistance value at part of the inner wall surface of valve glass 2, the electric charge is accumulated at part of the glass inner wall surface, and thus the high voltage is going to be produced between the glass inner wall and the area of the metal, graphite or the like. As a result, the electric charge flows through glass 6, preventing occurrence of the high voltage. It is hard for the current to flow with the specific resistance of more than 1014Ωcm; while the potential difference between electrodes cannot be held under the specific resistance value of under 108Ωcm since the value is too close to the conductor. With the primary components of V2O5, BaO and P2O5, the production of the glass can be facilitated, also securing easily the specific resistance within the range of 108W 1114Ωcm. The glass of this group features the approximate expansion coefficient to the valve glass as well as the high adhesive performance with the low fusing property. The power of such glass is mixed into the binder to obtain the paste. The paste is then coated at the desired areas and then dried, thus performing the sealing with burning.
