Abstract

CONSTITUTION: A pure copper coarse wire containing usual impurities is drawn at a processing rate of less than 90 %, annealed, and then drawn further into a desired diameter wire at a processing rate of 10 to 40 %. And, the wire thus obtained is subjected to an enamel baking process. By taking advantage of the fact that the flexibility of completely softened pure copper wire is greater, the lower the processing rate, the processing rate before annealing is set up to less than 90 % to prevent recrystallization and aggregation upon annealing, thus preventing the lowering of flexibility due to enamelling. Thus, it is possible to obtain enameled copper wire having excellent flexibility.
