Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To decrease voltage applied to a lighting device lower than operating voltage at the time of switching-off and prevent a lamp from flickering by inserting a resistor in a power supply input stage to decrease input impedance. SOLUTION: This lighting device is designed so that electric power consumption may become 15 W when input voltage is 100 V, and a lamp is turned off when the input voltage becomes 20 V or lower. If the resistance value of a resistor R1 is 100 kΩ or lower, the lamp will have no flickering motion. The impedance of a switch is approx. 400 kΩ which is almost the same as resistance load. By inserting a resistor R1 in an input stage, the input impedance of the lighting device becomes approximately lower than the resistance value of the resistor R1. Therefore, the voltage drop of the lighting device is 20 V or lower with the impedance when switched off and the impedance of the lighting device when the resistor R1 is 100 kΩ, and it meets lighting hold voltage.

The switch with hand lighting is
Even in the off state, current flows enough to light the neon discharge tube, and therefore has impedance. The lighting device is connected to the switch in series with the switch, and a voltage obtained by dividing the power supply voltage by the impedance of the switch and the impedance of the lighting device is applied to the lighting device when the switch is off. When the applied voltage is equal to or higher than the operating voltage of the lighting device, the lighting device intermittently operates, and the lamp blinks.

A first solution to the above problem is to reduce the input impedance of the lighting device by inserting a resistor in the input stage of the lighting device, and to reduce the voltage applied to the lighting device when the switch is turned off to the operating voltage or less. This is to prevent the lamp from blinking.

A second measure is to reduce the input impedance of the lighting device by inserting a resistor in the output stage of the rectifying / smoothing circuit, to reduce the voltage applied to the lighting device when the switch is turned off to the operating voltage or less, and to operate the lamp. FIG. 1 is a block diagram showing an embodiment of the present invention. The lighting device and the lamp of the present invention are connected to a 100 V AC power supply E via a switch with hand illumination. A resistor R1 is connected to an input stage of the lighting device to reduce input impedance. Using a choke coil and capacitor integration circuit (not shown) for the noise filter,
The rectifying and smoothing circuit employs a voltage doubler rectification method. The inverter circuit is a half bridge circuit using a MOS-FET as a switching element, and a 15 W fluorescent lamp is used as a lamp. This lighting device has an input voltage of 100 V
In this case, the power consumption is designed to be 15 W, and when the input voltage falls below 20 V, the light is turned off.

The circuit operation when the switch is turned off before the resistor R1 is inserted will be described. A minute current determined by the impedance of the switch and the input impedance of the lighting device flows into the lighting device. Part of this current charges the electrolytic capacitor of the rectifying / smoothing circuit, the output voltage of the rectifying / smoothing circuit gradually increases, and the lamp starts discharging. Since the load current of the lamp is larger than the charging current, the lamp cannot be maintained and is turned off instantly. At that point, the load current disappears, so that the charging of the electrolytic capacitor is restarted, the output voltage of the rectifier circuit increases, and the lamp is discharged instantaneously. This blinking operation is repeated while the switch is off.

The operation when the resistor R1 is inserted will be described. It was confirmed that the lamp did not blink when the resistance value of R1 was reduced to 100 kΩ or less. The switch impedance is approximately 400k ohms, approximately a resistive load. On the other hand, by inserting the resistor R1 in the input stage as shown in FIG. 1, the input impedance of the lighting device becomes approximately equal to or less than the resistance value of R1. Therefore, as shown in FIG. 3, the voltage drop VL generated in the lighting device is determined by the impedance ZS of the switch and the input impedance ZL of the lighting device.
Is 20 V or less when the resistance value of R1 is 100 kΩ. The lighting maintenance voltage of this lighting device is about 20 V, which is the same.

A second embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to FIG. The lighting device and the lamp of the present invention are connected to a 100 V AC power supply E via a switch with hand illumination.
The resistor R2 is connected to the rectifying and smoothing output stage of the lighting device. Other components are the same as those in FIG. 1 and the performance is the same. It was confirmed that the lamp did not blink when the resistance value of R2 was 1 M ohm or less. By consuming the charging current of the electrolytic capacitor by the resistor R2, an increase in the output voltage of the rectifying and smoothing circuit is suppressed, and the discharge of the lamp is prevented from starting.
