Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a watermark from being left on the surface of the substrate for a liquid crystal panel when the substrate is cleaned by providing a contact part after a hydrophilic treatment on the surface at a position which comes into contact with the substrate. SOLUTION: A hold pin 1 as the holder is molded of resin such as polypropylene and vinyl chloride and a GBB treatment for blowing fine glass beads of specific grain size is performed at least at its beak-shaped tip part 1a. Through this GBB treatment, the surface of the tip part 1a of the hold pin 1 is roughened into irregularities of <=1 mm to become hydrophilic. At the tip part 1a which comes into contact with the substrate, water does not form drops, but wets the surface because of the effect of prevention against water drop formation by the surface roughening. Therefore, water sticking on the contact part between the surface of the hold pin 1 and substrate becomes easy to wet, so a watermark can be prevented from being left on the substrate surface owing to drops of waters left on the hold pin 1.

However, water droplets adhering to the contact portion between the holding tool (hold pin 1 and transfer carrier 3) and the substrate 2 are difficult to evaporate even by the above-mentioned drying method, and the surface of the substrate 2 is hardly evaporated. However, there is a problem that a watermark caused by a water droplet is attached to the image.

In particular, when performing drying with warm pure water, the liquid crystal panel substrate 2 made of a glass plate is hydrophilic.
No polka dots are formed on the surface when the water is pulled up from the hot pure water. However, since the resin holder (the hold pin 1 and the transfer carrier 3) is hydrophobic, a polka dot is generated on the surface thereof and the contact portion with the substrate 2.

This polka dot takes a relatively long time to evaporate due to its small surface area, and often remains as water droplets even after the surface of the liquid crystal panel substrate 2 dries. For this reason, during the transfer of the substrate or during the assembly process, water droplets remaining on the holder and cooled to room temperature adhere to the substrate surface due to vibration or the like, and a water mark is generated on the substrate surface. There is a disadvantage that the stain is generated.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION In order to achieve the above object, the present invention provides a method for cleaning a liquid crystal panel substrate.
A holder for a liquid crystal panel substrate for holding the substrate in a predetermined state, wherein the holder has a contact portion subjected to a hydrophilization treatment at least on a surface of a portion that comes into contact with the liquid crystal panel substrate. This makes it possible to effectively prevent polka dots from being formed on the surface of the holder and a portion where the holder and the substrate are in contact with each other when performing hot pure water drying or the like, and that a water mark due to polka dots is generated on the substrate surface. Can be prevented.

The holding tool may be a resin-made hold pin formed so as to sandwich the liquid crystal panel substrate with a beak-shaped tip, or a resin substrate holding a plurality of liquid crystal panel substrates upright. Since the carrier can be used as a transfer carrier, it can be easily used in place of a conventional product.

Similarly, the GBB processing as described above is applied to the groove 5a of the support member 5 of the transfer carrier 3 shown in FIG. 2 or the entire transfer carrier 3 including the panels 4 and 4. By giving hydrophilicity by roughening,
It is possible to prevent polka dots from adhering to the transfer carrier 3 itself as a holder and the contact portion with the substrate. This makes it possible to prevent a situation in which a watermark is generated on the substrate surface due to the water droplet.
