Claims (1)
- 【特許請求の範囲】 1.自動車用のエアバッグシステムであって、衝突事故時に乗員の前方でエア バッグを膨張させるものであり、該自動車は少なくとも1人の乗員のための乗員 室を有しており、該乗員室はルーフと、フロントガラスと、座席とを有しており 、本エアバッグシステムは、 (a)エアバッグと、 (b)該エアバッグに接続され、該エアバッグをガスで膨張させる膨張手 段と、 (c)前記乗員室に対する前記乗員のポジションを継続的に検出し、その ポジションを示す電気出力を発生させる、好適には車体の内側ルーフに隣接して 搭載される乗員センサー手段と、 (d)車体の角オリエンテーションを検出し、そのオリエンテーションを 示す電気出力を発生させる車体角オリエンテーションセンサー手段と、 (e)前記乗員センサー手段と、前記車体角オリエンテーションセンサー 手段と、前記膨張手段とに電気的に接続されており、前記乗員センサー手段と前 記車体角オリエンテーションセンサー手段からの前記電気出力を比較して分析し 、その分析結果が車体の衝突を認知し、前記エアバッグの膨張が前記乗員に対す る重大な怪我の危険を減少させ、怪我の危険をかえって増大させることがないと 判断したときには該エアバッグを膨張させる前記膨張手段を起動させる情報処理 手段と、 を含んでおり、 該情報処理手段は、一定時間に関する前記乗員の前記ポジションのデー タを保存し、車体の衝突を示す乗員加速力と車体角加速力とに関し、さらに前記 エアバッグの膨張によって占められるエアバッグポジションに関し、さらに車体 の転覆を示す車体角加速度力に関する衝突基準データを保存するメモリ手段を選 択的に含むものであり、さらに、 (f)該情報処理手段によって所定時間に関する前記乗員ポジションの比 較が前記乗員室との相対的位置関係で増加する乗員加速力を示すなら、さらに、 乗員加速に関する前記衝突基準データとの比較で車体の衝突を示すなら、前記膨 張手段に前記エアバッグを膨張させるように予備決定する手段と、 (g)該エアバッグの膨張初期段階の前記乗員の予想平均ポジションを計 算する手段と、 (h)該予想平均ポジションと、該エアバッグの予想膨張ポジションに関 する前記衝突基準データとの比較で、前記乗員が膨張エアバッグの膨張ポジショ ン内に入るであろうことが示されるなら、該エアバッグの膨張のための前記予備 決定をキャンセルする手段と、 (i)前記情報処理による所定時間に関する前記車体角オリエンテーショ ンの比較が、衝突を示す角加速力に関する前記衝突基準データと比較されたとき に衝突ではないことを示す車体角加速力を示すなら、前記エアバッグの膨張のた めの前記予備決定をキャンセルする手段と、 (j)前記車体角加速力と車体の転覆に関する前記衝突基準データとの比 較が車体の転覆の運命を示すなら、前記エアバッグの膨張のための前記予備決定 をキャンセルする手段と、 (k)エアバッグの膨張のための前記予備決定が発せられ、手段(g)か ら(j)により示されるプロセスでキャンセルされなければ、前記エアバッグの 前記膨張手段を起動させる手段と、 を含んでいることを特徴とする自動車用エアバッグシステム。 2.前記乗員センサー手段は複数の乗員接近度センサー手段で成るアレイを含 み、乗員と個々の該乗員接近度センサー手段との距離を検出し、前記情報処理手 段は該距離のデータによって乗員ポジションを決定する乗員ポジション決定手段 を含んでおり、さらに、その距離を三角測定法で分析する距離分析手段を含み、 前記乗員のポジションを決定し、選択的に前記車体角オリエンテーションセンサ ー手段は3本の相互に垂直な軸の各々に関する該車体角オリエンテーションを検 出するセンサー手段であって、選択的に3軸電子コンパスであることを特徴とす る請求項1記載の自動車用エアバッグシステム。 3.個々の前記乗員接近度センサー手段はキャパシタと、該キャパシタに接続 された回路手段とを含んでおり、前記乗員の存在によって引き起こされる該キャ パシタの静電容量(capacitance)に対する静電結合効果を継続的に検出し、さ らに、該静電容量の値を示す信号を前記情報処理手段に継続的に提供するもので あり、該情報処理手段は該静電容量の値を基に個々の前記乗員接近度センサー手 段からの前記乗員の距離を継続的に決定する距離決定手段を含んでいることを特 徴とする請求項2記載の自動車用エアバッグシステム。 4.自動車用のエアバッグシステムであって、衝突事故時に乗員の前方でエア バッグを膨張させるものであり、該自動車は少なくとも1人の乗員のための乗員 室を有しており、該乗員室はルーフと、フロントガラスと、座席とを有しており 、本エアバッグシステムは、 (a)エアバッグと、 (b)該エアバッグに接続され、該エアバッグをガスで膨張させる膨張手 段と、 (c)前記乗員室に対する前記乗員のポジションを継続的に検出し、その ポジションを示す電気出力を発生させる車体ルーフ内側に隣接して搭載された乗 員センサー手段と、 (d)前記乗員センサー手段と前記膨張手段とに電気的に接続されており 、前記乗員センサー手段からの前記電気出力を比較して分析し、その分析結果が 車体の衝突を認知し、前記エアバッグの膨張が前記乗員に対する重大な怪我の危 険を減少させ、怪我の危険をかえって増大させることがないと判断したときには 該エアバッグを膨張させる前記膨張手段を起動させる情報処理手段と、 を含んでいることを特徴とする自動車用エアバッグシステム。 5.前記乗員センサー手段は複数の乗員接近度センサー手段で成るアレイを含 んでおり、乗員と個々の該乗員接近度センサー手段との距離を検出するものであ り、前記情報処理手段は該距離のデータによって乗員ポジションを決定する乗員 ポジション決定手段を含んでおり、さらに、その距離を三角測定法で分析する分 析手段を含み、前記乗員のポジションを決定することを特徴とする請求項4記載 の自動車用エアバッグシステム。 6.個々の前記乗員接近度センサー手段はキャパシタと、該キャパシタに接続 された回路手段とを含んでおり、前記乗員の存在によって引き起こされる該キャ パシタの静電容量(capacitance)に対する静電結合効果を継続的に検出し、さ らに、該静電容量の値を示す信号を前記情報処理手段に継続的に提供するもので あり、該情報処理手段は該静電容量の値を基に個々の前記乗員接近度センサー手 段からの前記乗員の距離を継続的に決定する距離決定手段を含んでいることを特 徴とする請求項5記載の自動車用エアバッグシステム。 7.前記情報処理手段は一定時間に関する前記乗員の前記ポジションを保存す るメモリ手段を含んでおり、本自動車エアバッグシステムはさらに車体のリニア 加速度を決定するリニア加速度決定手段を含み、前記メモリ手段は一定時間に関 する該リニア加速度の値を保存する保存手段を含んでおり、前記情報処理手段は さらに時間に関する該リニア加速度を分析する分析手段を含んでおり、該分析結 果が車両が衝突していないことを示すなら前記エアバッグの膨張を指示する前記 予備決定をキャンセルするものであり、該情報処理手段は、 (a)該情報処理手段によって所定時間に関する前記乗員ポジションの比 較が前記乗員室との相対的位置関係で増加する乗員加速力を示すなら、さらに、 乗員加速力に関する前記衝突基準データとの比較で車体の衝突を示すなら、前記 膨張手段に前記エアバッグを膨張させるように予備決定する手段と、 (b)該エアバッグの膨張初期段階の前記乗員の予想平均ポジションを計 算する手段と、 (c)該予想平均ポジションと、該エアバッグの予想膨張ポジションに関 する前記衝突基準データとの比較で、前記乗員が膨張エアバッグの膨張ポジショ ン内に入るであろうことが示されるなら、該エアバッグの膨張のための前記予備 決定をキャンセルする手段と、 (d)エアバッグの膨張のための前記予備決定が発せられ、手段(b)と (c)とにより示されるプロセスでキャンセルされなければ前記エアバッグの前 記膨張手段を起動させる手段と、 を含んでいることを特徴とする請求項4記載の自動車用エアバッグシステム。 8.車両のリニア加速度を決定するリニア加速度決定手段をさらに含んでおり 、前記情報処理手段は、時間に関して該リニア加速度を分析する分析手段をさら に含んでおり、該分析結果で車両が衝突していないことが示されたとき前記エア バッグの膨張を防止することを特徴とする請求項4記載の自動車用エアバッグシ ステム。 9.自動車内の座席ポジションに関してエアバッグシステムを非作動化する方 法であって、該エアバッグシステムはエアバッグドアを含んでいるものであり、 本方法は、 (a)前記座席ポジションの上方のルーフに乗員用静電結合センサーを設 置するステップと、 (b)前記エアバッグドアに対する乗員の接近度を検出するステップと、 (c)該乗員が該エアバッグドアに対して所定の距離よりも近ければ前記 エアバッグシステムを非作動化するステップと、 を含んでおり、さらに選択的に、 (d)該乗員の該エアバッグドアに対する接近度に応じてエアバッグの膨 張力を調整するためにエアバッグ膨張パラメータを変動させるステップ、 を含んでいることを特徴とするエアバッグシステム非作動化方法。 10.自動車内の座席ポジションに関してエアバッグシステムを非作動化する装 置であって、該エアバッグシステムはエアバッグドアを含んでいるものであり、 本装置は、 前記座席ポジションの上方のルーフに隣接した乗員用静電結合センサーと 、 前記エアバッグドアに対する乗員の接近度を検出する検出手段と、 該乗員が該エアバッグドアに対して所定の距離よりも近ければ前記エアバ ッグシステムを非作動化する手段と、 を含み、さらに選択的に、 該乗員の該エアバッグドアに対する接近度に応じてエアバッグの膨張力を 調整するためにエアバッグ膨張パラメータを変動させる手段、 を含んでいることを特徴とするエアバッグシステム非作動化装置。
