Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the amount of deformation of a vehicle body when the front end part of an outer wall part of the vehicle body is put into contact with the other vehicle, the side wall or the other facilities of a road. SOLUTION: Between a pair of first pillars 6, 6 of both sides of the front part of a vehicle body 1 are joined by a front cross member 16 disposed near the floor of a vehicle and a first pillar 6 is joined to a second pillar 7 of the side part of the vehicle body in the back of the first pillar 6 by an impact bar (reinforcing member) 12 disposed above the floor of the vehicle. When the front cross member 16 receives an impact load, the load is transmitted to the first pillar 6 and is surely transmitted to the second pillar 7 via the reinforcing member 12 disposed between the first pillar 6 and the second pillar 7 and a vehicle floor panel 15.

[0003] In any of these car body structures, the body outer wall structure is formed in a substantially box shape using a large number of frame members and panel members stretched on the inner and outer surfaces thereof. A large number of openings are formed in the front, rear, left and right outer walls of the body outer wall structure, and in particular, a large window opening is formed in the front of the vehicle body, so that the front of the vehicle body from the driver's seat is sufficiently visible. We can secure it. Further, a relatively large side window is formed also on the outer wall portion of the vehicle body, so that a side view of the vehicle body can be secured. However, when a large side window is formed on the front end side of the outer wall portion of the vehicle body, the shapes of the inner panel and the outer panel stretched between the pillar members located in front and behind the portion are relatively small.

In this case, the outer wall of the vehicle body copes with an impact load due to the rigidity of the inner panel and the outer panel and the rigidity of the floor member joined to the inner surface of the inner panel. . However, when a large load is received, there is a possibility that the above-mentioned components are bent and deformed, and the amount of displacement to the rear of the vehicle compartment is increased. An object of the present invention is to provide a vehicle body front structure that suppresses a vehicle body displacement amount when another vehicle, a road wall, a road facility, or the like comes into contact with a front end portion of an outer wall portion of the vehicle body.

In order to achieve the above-mentioned object, according to the first aspect of the present invention, a front cross member and left and right first pillars are connected near a vehicle floor surface, and the left and right first pillars are connected to each other. Since the strength member for coupling to the second pillar is provided above the vehicle floor surface, the impact load received by the front cross member passes through the first pillar to the second rear member behind the first pillar.
The strength member and the vehicle floor member disposed between the pillars reliably transmit the power to the second pillar. Further, the impact load is dispersed to other members forming a vehicle body component together with the first and second pillars, and the bending deformation of the front portion of the vehicle body can be effectively suppressed.

As described above, according to the first aspect of the present invention, the front cross member connected between the left and right first pillars has a member such as a floor panel constituting a vehicle floor surface and a strength such as an impact bar. The members are respectively arranged so as to be continuous at substantially the same position in the vehicle height direction. Therefore, when the vehicle having the structure of the first aspect of the present invention travels,
When the front cross member receives an impact load when it comes into contact with another vehicle, a passage wall, a road facility, or the like, the vehicle body starts displacing toward the rear of the vehicle. At this time, the impact load is coupled to the front cross member, the first pillar, a strength member such as an impact bar disposed above and below, a floor panel forming the vehicle floor surface, the second pillar, and the first and second pillars. The outer panel, the inner panel, and other components constituting the vehicle body are sequentially and efficiently transmitted in a distributed manner, thereby suppressing the vehicle body displacement.

According to a second aspect of the present invention, in the case of a vehicle in which a front wheel is disposed below a floor panel between a first pillar and a second pillar, an impact load is applied between the front cross member and the first and second pillars. From the tire house consisting of the inner panel, the outer panel, and the splash shield, the components of the vehicle body are sequentially and efficiently dispersed and transmitted to the components of the vehicle body. When in contact, the impact load is dispersed to the rubber tire of the front wheel, which has the effect of suppressing the further advance of the vehicle body displacement.
