Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a molded product formed into a shape having a curved surface and having a wood surface free from cracks. SOLUTION: Moisture is applied to a wood sheet 1 wherein a thermoplastic adhesive layer 4 is provided to the rear surface of membrane like wood 2 to soften the wood sheet 1 and the wood sheet is arranged in an injection mold 3 so that the thermoplastic adhesive layer 4 is opposed to an injected resin and the resin is filled into the injection mold 3 to be solidified to integrally bond the membrane like wood 2 to the surface of the molded product.

2. Description of the Related Art There are high-class automobile interior panels, home appliances, audio products, furniture, etc. that use a single piece of wood. However, the cost is high because it is difficult to process such as shaving and is not suitable for mass production, and the supply of raw materials is small. Therefore, an attempt has been made to produce an inexpensive product while maintaining a high-class feeling. For example, there is a method of sticking a synthetic resin sheet on which a wood pattern is printed. In addition, a transfer material having a transfer layer including a release layer, a pattern layer, an adhesive layer and the like, which has a wood pattern, is inserted into the mold on the base sheet, and the resin is injected into the mold. There is a method of performing simultaneous molding and transfer. However, it is undeniable that the molded article having a wood surface obtained by these methods has an artificial feel and a cheap feeling because it has a layer made of a synthetic resin on the surface.

Therefore, it has been attempted to put an actual wooden board in a mold and simultaneously form a molded product to integrate the wooden board on the surface of the molding resin (see Japanese Patent Publication No. 7-37043).

However, according to the above method, the flexibility of the wooden board becomes a problem because the wooden board conforms to the shape of the inner surface of the mold simultaneously with the molding of the molded product. That is, there is a problem that the wood board is cracked in a three-dimensionally tight one due to the kind of wood such as cedar, pine, etc., which is flexible, but Shitan, oak, etc., is not, and the thickness and dryness of the wood board. Therefore, it is conceivable to divide the wooden board into several pieces and form them, but there remains a problem that the appearance is bad in terms of design.

The thin film wood 2 refers to a decorative veneer or veneer made of natural wood. The thickness of the thin film wood 2 is 0.
It is preferably from 05 to 2.0 mm. If the thickness of the thin film wood 2 is less than 0.05 mm, there is a disadvantage that the slice cannot be actually sliced. On the other hand, when the thickness exceeds 2.0 mm, it takes time for water to penetrate into the thin film-shaped wood 2, and it is difficult to form a three-dimensional shape.

As a method of giving moisture to the wood sheet 1, there are a steam method and a water immersion method. In the method using steam, the temperature may be 50 to 100 ° C. and the humidity may be 70 to 100% under normal pressure. It is recommended that the temperature be 50 to 200 ° C. under the pressure applied by the pressure pot or the pressure chamber. Also, in the method of soaking in water, that is, the method of soaking in a water tank, the temperature is 50 to 100 ° C.

If necessary, the wood sheet 1 may be preformed. When the wood sheet 1 is preformed, the wood sheet 1 can be shaped more easily along the mold 3. Further, it becomes possible to mold even a deep shape or a complicated shape. The wood sheet 1 can be preformed by a method such as vacuum forming, pressure forming, vacuum pressure forming, and press forming. In addition, a mold different from the injection mold 3 may be used for preforming, or the injection mold 3 may be used as a preforming mold. Also,
A heater for drying water may be built in the preforming die. Ideally, the shape of the pre-molding should be the cavity shape of the injection molding die 3. However, it takes time to perform the pre-molding to make the cavity shape of the injection-molding die 3 and the cost becomes high. Therefore, the pre-molding may be performed to a general shape that does not break when injection-molding.

If necessary, the outer shape of the wood may be trimmed. Trimming the outer shape eliminates the need for trimming in subsequent steps. Moreover, the end surface of the wood sheet 1 does not appear at the end of the molded product. The outer shape may be trimmed by punching the NC router, the press die 3, cutting with a water jet or a laser, or the like. The trimming may be performed before preforming, after preforming, or after injection molding.

If necessary, the water content of the wood sheet 1 may be dried. It is good to dry with water, because if there is water, the high temperature resin melted and softened at the time of molding is injected,
This is because the water content may turn into steam and cause uneven molding. Moreover, this is because there is a problem that the mold 3 is corroded by the discharged water. To dry with water, hot air drying or vacuum drying may be performed. When drying these, the temperature is 50 ~
200 ℃ is recommended. Further, it is preferable to reduce the pressure during vacuum drying.

The wood sheet 1 is placed in the injection mold 3 so that the thermoplastic adhesive layer 4 of the wood sheet 1 faces the injection resin (see FIG. 1). When preformed, the preformed shape of the wood sheet 1 and the shape of the mold 3 are arranged so as to match each other.

Therefore, the wood sheet exhibits flexibility due to moisture, and the wood sheet adheres to the surface of the molded product without cracking, so that a continuous and crack-free wood surface decoration can be performed on the three-dimensional surface. Moreover, since the wood sheet is used by slicing the wood thinly, it is possible to conserve nature and save resources. Further, since the wood sheet is used, it is possible to mass-produce at low cost. Further, since the surface of the molded product is wood itself, the molded product has a high-grade feeling.
