Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To minimize the works being dependent on manpower improve the efficiency in stocktaking in an automated storage and retrieval system, and prevent the degree of cleanness from being damaged even in the automated storage and retrieval system for clean rooms. SOLUTION: An automated storage and retrieval system is provided with a light projecting/receiving device 18 for detecting the presence or absence of articles on each shelf provided in a warehousing/delivery device 3, an ID reader 16 for reading the contents of indexes such as bar codes, etc., provided on the articles W at respective stations 11, 13, 15, a memory storage means for storing information on the stock in each shelf, and a personal computer 20 for checking the detected results of the light projecting/receiving device 18 and the read results of the ID reader 16 against the information on the stock in the memory storage means during the period of stocktaking. When the information on the stock and the read results by the ID reader do not agree with each other, as a result of checking, the results are stored in the memory storage means as abnormal information, and the abnormal information is displayed on a display device of the personal computer 20 in order inform the workers before the stocktaking is completed.

2. Description of the Related Art Conventionally, an automatic warehouse has been known in which a bar code reader is installed at a loading / unloading station, a bar code attached to an article is read by the bar code reader at the time of loading, and inventory management is performed based on the read information. Has been. In such an automated warehouse, a crane is operated by remote operation to take out an article from a shelf, and the taken-out article is manually checked at a loading / unloading station by collating with an inventory list (stock information). The difference between the actual stock status and the stock information occurs when the stocking / unloading work is performed by the manual operation before the personal computer for stock management is started and the host computer cannot communicate with the host computer.

In the case where the inventory information indicates that there is an empty shelf but there is a first-in-stock item, abnormality information is stored in the storage means 23 to the effect that the stored inventory information is different from the actual inventory status. After storing the abnormality information, the article W is unloaded. When the article W is unloaded to a predetermined station, the ID reader 16 reads the index content attached to the article W. When the article W is normally read, the article W is stored, and the inventory information for the shelf is updated based on the reading result, and then the elevator 8 is moved to the next shelf. When the reading by the ID reader 16 is not normally performed (in the case of a read error), the dummy ID for the article W is set in the storage means 23 and then the article W is stored. By setting the dummy ID, it is possible to prevent the stocktaking operation from being stopped due to a read error.
