Abstract
動する前後輪駆動車両において、低μ路での発進時に電
動機による発進アシストを自動的に応答性良く行い得ら
れるようにする。 【構成】 エンジン3で駆動される車輪1の駆動力を検
出する手段15aと、車輪1のスリップ率を検出する手
段15bと、駆動力とスリップ率との相関関係に基いて
路面のμを検出する手段15cとから成るμ検出装置1
5を設ける。検出されたμが設定値以下のとき次の発進
に際して制御手段10によりスイッチ回路9をオンし、
電動機5を作動させて発進アシストを行う。
Description
ンで駆動すると共に他方を電動機で駆動するようにした
前後輪駆動車両並びにこの車両に適用される路面μ検出
装置に関する。
してACモータを使用し、インバータ制御で全車速域に
亘って電動機を作動可能とするものが知られている(特
開平3−159502号公報参照)。
車速域をカバーするには、電動機を大出力のものにする
必要があり、更に、インバータ回路が必要になってコス
トが高くなる。ところで、電動機の使用目的を発進アシ
ストに限定すべく、発進に際してのみ電動機を作動させ
るようにすれば、セルモータ等として使用される安価な
DCブラシモータを用いることができる。然し、発進時
に常にDCブラシモータを作動させたのでは、ブラシの
耐久性が問題になる。かかる不具合を解決するため、路
面が滑り易いと運転者が判断したときに操作するスイッ
チを設け、該スイッチがオンされている状態で発進操作
を行ったときに電動機を作動させ、或いは、発進時にエ
ンジンで駆動される車輪がスリップしたときに電動機を
作動させることが考えられる。然し、前者の方式はスイ
ッチ操作が必要となって面倒であり、また、後者の方式
はエンジンで駆動される車輪が回り始めてから電動機が
作動されるため、発進アシストの応答性が悪くなる不具
合がある。本発明は、以上の点に鑑み、路面のμを走行
中に検出し得るようにした検出装置を提供し、更に、こ
の検出装置を利用して低μ路での発進アシストを自動的
に応答性良く行い得られるようにした前後輪駆動車両を
提供することをその目的としている。
本発明は、前後輪の一方をエンジンで駆動すると共に他
方を電動機で駆動する車両において、路面のμを走行中
に検出する路面μ検出装置と、検出された路面のμが所
定値以下のとき次の発進に際し電動機を作動させる制御
手段とを備え、路面μ検出装置は、エンジンで駆動され
る車輪の駆動力を検出する手段と、該車輪のスリップ率
を検出する手段と、前記駆動力と前記スリップ率との相
関関係に基いて路面のμを検出する手段とで構成される
ことを特徴とする。
車輪の駆動力によって変化するため、スリップ率だけで
は路面のμを検出できないが、本発明の如く駆動力とス
リップ率とをパラメータとすることで路面のμを正確に
検出できる。そして、雪道等の低μ路での走行中に一旦
停止して発進する際は、予め路面のμが低いことが分っ
ているため、エンジンで駆動される車輪がスリップする
前に電動機を作動させて、応答性良く発進アシストを行
うことができる。
備える4輪車両を示し、左右1対の前輪1,1をエンジ
ン3により変速機4を介して駆動し、左右1対の後輪
2,2を電動機5によりクラッチ6とデフギア7とを介
して駆動するようにした。
おり、該電動機5を車載バッテリー8に前後進切換回路
を内蔵するスイッチ回路9を介して接続した。そして、
スイッチ回路9を制御回路10からの信号でオンオフ制
御し、スイッチ回路9がオンしたとき電動機5が作動さ
れると共にクラッチ6が係合されて、後輪2が電動機5
により駆動されるようにした。尚、スイッチ回路9に内
蔵する前後進切換回路は車室内のシフトレバーに連動し
て切換制御される。
検出するブレーキスイッチ11の信号と、アクセルがオ
ンか否かを検出するアクセルスイッチ12の信号と、変
速機4がニュートラル状態か否かを検出するセンサ、例
えば、自動変速機ではシフトレバーのポジションセン
サ、手動変速機ではクラッチスイッチから成る変速機セ
ンサ13の信号と、後輪2に取付けたパルサーギア14
aと協働して後輪2の回転速度を検出する車輪速センサ
14Rの信号とを入力するマイクロコンピュータで構成
されている。更に、路面のμ(摩擦係数)を走行中に検
出する路面μ検出装置15を設け、該検出装置15から
の信号も制御回路10に入力している。
検出する駆動力検出部15aと、前輪1のスリップ率を
検出するスリップ率検出部15bと、前輪1の駆動力と
スリップ率との相関関係に基いて路面のμを検出するμ
検出部15cとで構成されている。
転速度Neを検出するセンサ16の信号と、エンジン3
のスロットル開度θthを検出するセンサ17の信号と、
変速機4の現時点の確立変速段を表わす信号とが入力さ
れており、Neとθthとからマップ検索等でエンジンの
出力トルクを割出し、この出力トルクと確立変速段のギ
ア比とから前輪1の駆動力を算定する。尚、アクセルペ
ダルの踏込み量から判別される運転者の意図と現在の運
転状態とに基いてスロットル開度と燃料噴射量と変速段
とを電子的に制御する、所謂DPRシステムを搭載した
車両では、エンジンで駆動される車輪の駆動力の目標値
がDPR用の制御ユニットで演算されて、駆動力が目標
値になるようにエンジンや変速機が制御されるから、こ
の制御ユニットを駆動力検出部に兼用しても良い。
付けたパルサーギア14aと協働して前輪1の回転速度
を検出する車輪速センサ14Fの信号と、後輪2の回転
速度を検出する上記車輪速センサ14Rの信号とが入力
されている。ここで、走行中は後輪2が従動輪となって
車速に等価な速度で回転するため、前後輪1,2の回転
速度差から駆動輪たる前輪1のスリップ率を算定するこ
とができ、この演算をスリップ率検出部15bで行って
スリップ率を検出する。

の相関関係は、路面のμが低い場合には図3のa線のよ
うになり、路面のμが高い場合には同図のb線のように
なる。そこで、μ検出部15cにおいて駆動力とスリッ
プ率との相関関係に基いてマップ検索等により路面のμ
を検出し、検出されたμの値を制御回路10に送信す
る。
示す通りであり、ブレーキ(パーキングブレーキ、サイ
ドブレーキを含む)がオフ(S1)、変速機が非ニュー
トラル状態(S2)、アクセルがオン(S3)、後輪回
転速度(車速)Vが所定値Vs以下(S4)という4条
件が成立したとき発進時と判断し、発進時と判断された
ときは停止前に検出されたμの値が所定値μs以下か否
かを判別し(S5)、μ≦μsのときにスイッチ回路9
をオンし(S6)、上記4条件の全てが成立しない非発
進時や、また、発進時であってもμ>μsのときは、ス
イッチ回路9をオフする(S7)。かくて、低μ路での
発進時には、発進当初から電動機5が作動されて後輪2
が駆動され、応答性良く発進アシストが行われる。ま
た、電動機5が作動されるのは、低μ路での発進時だけ
となり、電動機5として安価なDCブラシモータを用い
ても耐久性上何ら問題はない。
検出できず、そのためブレーキングの直前に検出された
μの値に基いてS5のステップでの判別処理を行う。ま
た、本実施例では制御回路10に後輪用の車輪速センサ
14Rからの信号に加えて前輪用の車輪速センサ14F
からの信号を入力し、前輪1のスリップを生ずることな
く良好に発進したか否かを判別し、学習制御で上記した
Vs,μsの値を変更し得るようにした。
機5で駆動する前後輪駆動車両に本発明を適用した実施
例について説明したが、後輪をエンジン、前輪を電動機
で駆動する車両にも同様に本発明を適用できる。
によれば、電動機の使用目的を低μ路での発進アシスト
のみに限定できるため、電動機として安価なDCブラシ
モータを用いても耐久性上何ら問題はなく、且つ、発進
アシストを自動的に応答性良く行うことができ、使い勝
手が良好となる。また、路面のμを走行中に検出でき、
μに基く制御が可能となる。

Claims (2)
- 【請求項1】 前後輪の一方をエンジンで駆動すると共
に他方を電動機で駆動する車両において、路面のμを走
行中に検出する路面μ検出装置と、検出された路面のμ
が所定値以下のとき次の発進に際し電動機を作動させる
制御手段とを備え、路面μ検出装置は、エンジンで駆動
される車輪の駆動力を検出する手段と、該車輪のスリッ
プ率を検出する手段と、前記駆動力と前記スリップ率と
の相関関係に基いて路面のμを検出する手段とで構成さ
れることを特徴とする前後輪駆動車両。 - 【請求項2】 エンジンで駆動される車輪の駆動力を検
出する手段と、該車輪のスリップ率を検出する手段と、
前記駆動力と前記スリップ率との相関関係に基いて路面
のμを検出する手段とで構成されることを特徴とする路
面μ検出装置。
