<< Prior Art >> In a balloon catheter used for treating or inspecting a diseased part generated in a living body lumen, it is necessary to accurately grasp the position of the balloon. For example, in the case of a balloon catheter used for expanding a stenotic portion of a living body lumen, the balloon portion is accurately reached to the stenotic portion, the balloon is inflated, a contrast agent is injected from the catheter tip, and the affected area is selectively selected. It is necessary to know the positions of both ends of the balloon when imaging the.

As a method therefor, for example, it is known to dispose X-ray opaque markers at both ends of the balloon of a balloon catheter (Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 59-91970 and Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 2-13464). There is a problem in that it requires an extra step of adhering a metal ring as a transparent marker to the catheter tube, which is time-consuming.

It is also known that an X-ray opaque material is attached to the inside of a balloon of a balloon catheter or contained in the balloon (Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 1-305965). In addition, there is a drawback that a thin balloon has little effect.

<Means for Solving the Problems> The present invention is a balloon catheter mainly composed of a catheter tube and a balloon, for inflating the balloon for treating or inspecting the inside of a living body lumen, and fixing both ends of the balloon. Part of the part is wound and fixed with a thread, apply an adhesive between the rest of the balloon end and the catheter tube, wrap it with a thread, and then apply an adhesive on the entire surface of the thread winding part. And the adhesive is 10 ~ 50wt%
A medical balloon catheter containing the X-ray opaque substance.

FIG. 1 is an overall view of a balloon catheter according to an embodiment of the present invention. In the balloon catheter of the present invention, a side hole (2) is opened near the tip of the catheter tube (1), a balloon (3) is attached so as to wrap the side hole (2), and at the rear end of the catheter tube (1). Has a connector (7) for fitting a syringe or the like.

As shown in FIG. 2, the balloon tube (3) fixed portion at the distal end of the catheter tube (1) has a side hole (2) formed in the side wall of the catheter tube (1) inside the balloon (3). A liquid for inflating the balloon (3) can be injected through the side hole (2) from the lumen of the tube (1). The material of the catheter tube (1) is preferably soft vinyl chloride resin, polyurethane resin or the like.

Next, a method for attaching the balloon (3) to the catheter tube (1) will be described. First, a cylindrical balloon (3) is passed through the catheter tube (1), and about half of the fixed portions at both ends of the balloon (3) are wound with a thread (4). As the material of the thread (4), it is preferable to use silk thread, nylon thread, or the like. Subsequently, an adhesive (5) containing a radiopaque substance is put between the end of the balloon (3) and the catheter tube (1) in the other half of the balloon fixing portion, and a thread (4) is wound on the adhesive. Further, from the top of this balloon thread winding part, adhesive (6)
Is applied to bond the thread (4), and the surface of the thread winding portion is tapered to finish smoothly.

The adhesives (5) and (6) used here are preferably polyurethane type or silicone rubber type, and the X-ray opaque substance contained therein is barium sulfate, bismuth oxide or the like. The amount of the X-ray opaque substance contained in the adhesives (5) and (6) is preferably 10 to 50% by weight.
~ 30wt% is desirable. If the amount of X-ray opaque substance in the adhesive is less than 10% by weight, sufficient contrast cannot be obtained, and if it is more than 50% by weight, it is difficult to sufficiently mix with a polyurethane or silicone rubber adhesive. , Workability remains a problem. The adhesive mixed in these mixing ratios is used for vacuum fixing and balloon fixing and tapering of the bobbin portion. As a result, X-ray opacity is imparted to both ends of the balloon (3), and the position of the balloon (3) can be confirmed under fluoroscopy when using the balloon catheter.

By using an adhesive containing a radiopaque substance within the above range, it is possible to easily have the ability of fixing the balloon and serving as a radiopaque marker at the same time.
