Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the replenishing quantity of developer from being reduced along with the wear with time of an elastic member in a developing device constituted so that a developer replenishing roller is rotated and the new developer housed in the recessed grooves thereof is scraped by the elastic member and supplied CONSTITUTION:The developer replenishing roller 34 is provided in a developer hopper 30 and a feeding-out port 30a is covered with the roller 34. The roller 34 is provided with the plural recessed grooves 34a in an axial direction on the outside circumference thereof and freely rotatably disposed. An elastic blade 39 is provided on one side of the roller 34 in the diameter direction by interposing the roller 34. The blade 39 is formed by using a polyethylene film and the base end part thereof is supported by a blade holder 40. Besides, the tip part thereof is inserted in the hopper 30, deflected and pressed to the outside circumference of the roller 34. Then, even when the tip of the blade 39 wears, the pressing action to the roller 34 is secured by the restoring force thereof.

When the toner density in the developing chamber 23 becomes lower than a certain level with the passage of time, the density sensor 28 detects it. Based on the detection signal, the control means (not shown) engages the clutch 37 shown in FIG. 3 to transmit the driving force from the drive system of the apparatus main body to the clutch gear 38. Then, the clutch gear 38 is rotationally driven, and its driving force is transmitted to the replenishing roller gear 36 and the screw gear 33 to rotationally drive the developer replenishing roller 34 and the conveying screw 31. Then, the new developer entering the concave groove 34a is conveyed to the delivery port 30a by the rotation of the developer replenishing roller 34. At that time, the elastic force of the moltoprene 38 pushes the developer into the groove 34a. Then, the elastic blade 3 that bites into the groove 34a
It scrapes off at the tip of 9 and replenishes the developing chamber 23 with new developer.

Therefore, even if the tip of the elastic blade 39 wears over time, the restoring force of the elastic blade 39 ensures pressing against the developer replenishing roller 34. Therefore, even if the tip of the elastic blade 39 is worn, as shown in FIG.
It is possible to stably replenish a sufficient amount of the developer for a long time without reducing the replenishment amount of the developer. Therefore, it is possible to prevent the replenishment amount of the developer from decreasing as shown in the figure as the conventional moltoprene wears.

Further, as shown in FIG. 6, the elastic blade 3
With the use of No. 9, it was possible to obtain a replenishment amount of 1.5 times at the same number of revolutions of the developer replenishing roller 34 as compared with the conventional one using moltoprene. From this, a sufficient replenishment amount can be obtained even if the developer replenishing roller 34 is rotated at a low speed. Therefore, for example, it is possible to prevent the problem that the developer is condensed by the heat generated by rotating the developer replenishing roller 34 at a high speed.

On the other hand, when the amount of the developer in the developer hopper 30 becomes less than a certain amount with the passage of time, it is detected by a developer end sensor (not shown). Then, based on the detection signal, the control means (not shown) drives the motor 48 shown in FIG. 4 to rotationally drive the motor gear 47, and the developer bottle 50 is rotated via the rotary cylinder 46. then,
The developer is sent to the mouth portion 50b side and pushed out by the spiral blade portion 50a. Then, the outlet 45b and the developer inlet 3

In the illustrated embodiment described above, the elastic blade 39 is formed by using a polyester film.
However, although not shown, the elastic blade 39 may be formed of urethane rubber. As a result, the operation noise of the elastic blade 39 to the developer replenishing roller 34 can be eliminated.

Therefore, according to the present invention, the elastic blade is bent to press the tip against the developer replenishing roller, so that even if the tip of the elastic blade wears over time, the elastic blade can be worn. Since the pressing force against the developer replenishing roller is secured by the restoring force of 1, the sufficient amount of the developer can be stably replenished for a long period of time without decreasing the replenishment amount of the developer due to abrasion.

1. An electrophotographic apparatus in which a developer replenishing roller having a groove in the axial direction on the outer periphery is rotated, and new developer contained in the groove is scraped off by an elastic member and replenished into a developing chamber. The developing device of the electrophotographic device, wherein the elastic member is formed into a blade shape, and the elastic blade is bent to press the tip end against the outer periphery of the developer replenishing roller.
