The above-mentioned conventional method for manufacturing a prepreg has the following problems. That is, in the above-mentioned prepreg, there is a difference in hygroscopicity between the release paper and the prepreg, and wrinkles are generated on the release paper, so that it is inevitable to use expensive front and back double-sided silicon-impregnated release paper. Residual resin adhered to one of the release papers that had been peeled off, and it was difficult to apply the resin to the release paper again. Therefore, the release paper was normally discarded after one use, resulting in prepreg. Became expensive, and there was a demand for cost reduction. Further, this discarded release paper cannot be incinerated due to the impregnation with silicon, and it becomes a landfill treatment, which is also a problem from the viewpoint of reducing industrial waste.

The release paper and the transfer resin film, which are in pressure contact with each other, are peeled off and then separately wound. For the transfer resin film, it is possible to select several kinds of materials as described above, but it is preferable to remove the residual resin on the release paper even if it is subjected to unwinding tension and further heated. However, it is necessary to select a material that is as inexpensive as possible and is as good as the melting of the transfer resin film itself. As a result of repeated studies by the present inventor, it is effective that the transfer surface of the transfer resin film is improved by the type of thermosetting resin impregnated in the sheet-like reinforcing fibers or reinforcing fiber bundles. found. The improvement treatment is, for example, a primer treatment, a flame treatment, an ozone treatment, an electric treatment (corona discharge treatment), and is not limited to these. As a film which has been subjected to the above-mentioned surface treatment and which can be obtained at a low price in terms of cost, which satisfies the conditions of the resin film for transfer described above, a surface corona-treated product of a biaxially oriented polypropylene film can be mentioned. The thickness of the stretched film is preferably 20 to 150 μm, more preferably 25 to 50 μm.

The transfer resin film continuously unwound from the unwinding shaft 13 and the heated release paper sent out from the heating roll 14 are sandwiched by the nip roll 15 driven by the drive motor 16 as shown in the figure. The thermosetting resin remaining on the release paper is pressed at this portion and transferred to the transfer resin film side. It is particularly preferable that the surface of the transfer resin film that contacts the release paper is subjected to the above-mentioned surface modification. Further, it is preferable that at least one of the nip rolls 19 is a heatable roll so that the resin heated above the softening point remaining on the release paper is not cooled below the softening point. Therefore, the nip roll 14
Preferably has a heater built-in or a structure capable of passing a heating medium in a heated state, and it is more preferable that the temperatures of these heat sources can be controlled.
