The reason is that the banknotes can be transferred from one banknote stacking section to the other stacking section with almost no restriction, and in any banknote transfer operation, the banknotes are conveyed through the discrimination section in order to count the banknotes. In addition, if there is any abnormality or stain on the banknotes that are discriminated as normal in the discrimination result, it is necessary to separate these abnormal or stainable banknotes from normal banknotes. If the device configuration is made in consideration of the fact that each of these banknotes must be transported to different transport destinations corresponding to each, and that it is easy to use in operation, etc. As a result, the transport route must be different for each transaction type and operation type, as described above, which complicates the transport route configuration, which in turn increases the size and cost of the device. There is a problem that that.

Further, with the increase in the number of holidays of financial institution staff in recent years, the dependency of the transaction business on the automatic transaction device has increased, and the automatic transaction device can now be provided unattended even on the holidays. Since it is difficult to replenish the banknotes inside, increasing the capacity of the banknotes that can be stored in the device is an urgent issue. However, in the conventional device, since the transport path configuration is complicated for the reasons described above, it is inevitable to further increase the size of the device. On the other hand, the size of the device cannot be increased from the viewpoint of efficient installation space. There is a problem that is difficult to solve.

When the bills conveyed here are taken into the deposit / withdrawal module 20, the switching gate 31 is used.
It is done by operating. Similarly, for the 1,000-yen note, the switching gate 35 is operated to switch the conveying path, and thereby the branch is conveyed to the deposit / withdrawal module 22, and the bills are accumulated on the temporary holding unit 26. The temporary holding units 24, 25, and 26 are designed to slide horizontally between the positions shown by the solid lines in the figure and the positions shown by the broken lines by driving a motor (not shown). The positions of the temporary holding units 24, 25, and 26 are slid to the positions shown by the solid lines (immediately above the denomination-based storages 6, 7, and 8) until the customer confirms and inputs the amount of money. 6,
Make sure that banknotes do not go into 7 and 8 directly. this is,
When the automatic teller machine is used in the automatic teller machine, the amount of money of the counting result is displayed on the display unit (not shown) so that the customer can confirm it after the counting is finished. Transactions may be interrupted due to some reason such as doubting the displayed amount, or troubles such as banknote jams may occur during counting, in which case the banknotes must be returned. This is because the banknotes in the coin-type storage boxes 6, 7, and 8 and the banknotes of the customer in the process of processing are strictly separated so as not to cause a trouble such as a shortage of money during such return processing.

Therefore, the temporary holding units 24, 25, 26
Can be said to have a function to temporarily hold the deposited banknotes until the transaction is confirmed. It should be noted that although the temporary holding function is arranged above the respective money type storage boxes 6, 7, and 8 as shown in the drawing, the arrangement is not necessarily limited to this. However, if it is installed in another place, another space is required, and in addition, in order to store the banknotes deposited after the transaction is confirmed in the denomination storage boxes 6, 7, 8 for withdrawal, this temporary hold Must be delivered again to the discriminating section 4, re-discriminated, conveyed again to the deposit / withdrawal unit 18, and stored in each of the denomination storage boxes 6, 7, and 8 for each denomination. In view of the processing efficiency, the illustrated method is superior in view of processing efficiency. Therefore, this configuration is shown in this embodiment.

When a bill that is discriminated as a reject bill by the discriminating unit 4 is generated during counting in the bill transport control at the time of dispensing as described above, the switching gate 37 is immediately activated to make a deposit / withdraw reject receipt. Although it is taken into the section 17, the re-discrimination method regarding the rejected bill at the time of withdrawal will be described here with reference to FIG. While counting
When the reject bill is discriminated by the discriminating unit 4, the conveyance control 69 shown in the block diagram of FIG. 4 immediately stops the separating / feeding operation in the depositing / dispensing unit 18, and controls the bill conveyance and the normal direction. The re-identification conveyance control 80 is provided.
In response to this, the normal-direction reclassification conveyance control 80 conveys the already-fed banknotes as they are, and based on the discrimination result in the discrimination section 4, normal banknotes pass through the front and back sorting mechanism 5 and the customer service section temporary holding section. 9 continues to be accumulated, and rejected banknotes are not taken in anywhere until all banknotes that have been discriminated as normal have disappeared from the main transport path A, continue to be transported in the main transport path A, and the discrimination unit 4 is re-repeated at least once. Let it pass and re-identify.

In the case of the above-mentioned transport control, the re-discrimination processing for rejected banknotes can be similarly carried out by the control of the backward re-discrimination transport control 82, but the content of the processing is the description of the first embodiment in the deposit processing. Therefore, detailed description will be omitted. (3) At the time of refilling Next, the transport path control at the time of generation of rejected bills at the time of refilling will be described. The banknote deposit / withdrawal device of the second configuration example shown in FIG. 14 differs from the banknote deposit / withdrawal device of the first configuration example shown in FIG. 11 in the arrangement of the replenishment / recovery storage 11 and the reject cassette 15. However, it is obvious that the bill depositing / dispensing device shown in FIG. 14 can obtain the same result by the same control as that of the device of the first configuration example shown in FIG. 11, and that of the third embodiment shown in FIG. The bill depositing / dispensing device has exactly the same functions as the depositing / dispensing device except that the depositing / dispensing module constituting the depositing / dispensing unit 18 is different from the device of the first embodiment. Therefore, here, the conveyance path control of the reject bill at the time of refilling will be described by using the bill depositing / dispensing device having the first configuration shown in FIG. 11 as a representative.

According to the discrimination result when it is conveyed to the depositing / dispensing unit 18, for example, in the case of a 10,000 yen ticket, it is taken in to the depositing / dispensing module 20 or 21 whichever has a higher priority, and the temporary holding unit is used as in the depositing. After being temporarily accumulated on 24 or 25, it is stored in the denomination storing box 6 or 7, or the denomination storing box 6 or 7 is directly used from the deposit / withdrawal module 20, 21 without using the temporary holding sections 24, 25.

When the money is temporarily stored in the temporary holding unit and then stored in the denomination storing box, it is necessary to slide the temporary holding unit every time a predetermined number of sheets are stacked on the temporary holding unit. Therefore, it is necessary to temporarily stop the delivery of banknotes from the replenishment / recovery storage box 11, but when a plurality of denomination-based storage boxes are allocated as in the 10,000-yen ticket of this example, the transfer destinations are alternated. By doing so, it is possible to avoid suspending the feeding of bills, and the processing time is not extended. However, when only one denomination-based storage is assigned, as in the case of the 1000-yen ticket of this example, a temporary suspension of the payout of bills cannot be avoided, and the processing time becomes slightly longer.

On the other hand, when the banknote whose discrimination result is reject is conveyed to the position near the switching gate 39, the banknote is conveyed to the branch conveyance path in the replenishment / recovery storage 11 toward the supplementary reject storage unit 14. First, the switching gate 39 is operated, and further the switching gate 41 is operated to take it into the supplementary reject bill storage unit 14.

Next, regarding re-discrimination control when a bill whose discrimination result is reject occurs, as in the case of deposit and withdrawal, the normal direction re-discrimination conveyance control and the reverse discrimination control are performed. Both direction re-identification and transport control are possible,
The details of the control are clear in the description at the time of depositing and withdrawing, and thus detailed description will be omitted here. (4) At the time of collection Control of the transport path of the rejected banknotes at the time of collection will be described using the banknote deposit / withdrawal device shown in FIG. The banknote deposit / withdrawal device having the first configuration example shown in FIG. 12 and the banknote deposit / withdrawal device of the second configuration example shown in FIG. Although they have different configurations, it is obvious that the same results can be obtained by the same control as in the first configuration example, as shown in the figure, and the third configuration shown in FIG. The banknote pay-in / pay-out device having the above configuration example also has exactly the same function as the first example, except that the specific configuration of the pay-in / pay-out module that constitutes the pay-in / pay-out unit 18 is different.

As described above, according to the present invention, since the bill transport path in the bill depositing / dispensing device is constituted by one annular main transport path and a plurality of branch transport paths,
It is possible to realize a simple and small-sized transport path configuration in which a plurality of separation units and a stacking unit can be connected to each other and transported without limitation. In other words, this does not sacrifice operability or functionality despite the simple transport path configuration.
It is possible to obtain an effect that it is possible to realize a device having a high degree of freedom in configuration.

Further, since one discriminating section is provided on the main conveying path and the discriminating section is capable of discriminating in both directions, it is not necessary to provide a plurality of discriminating sections depending on the conveying direction. Since it is provided on the main conveyance path, it is not necessary to take measures according to the device configuration such as providing a simple type discrimination section at a necessary place, so not only the conveyance path can be simplified but also the discrimination section can be arranged. Since only one is required, a great effect can be obtained in reducing the space in the device, improving the reliability of the function, and reducing the cost.

Further, even when a bill once discriminated as a reject bill is re-discriminated, it can be sent again to the discriminating section by conveying the main conveyance path in an annular shape as it is. It can be easily performed, and by performing this re-discrimination processing, the bills that have once obtained the discrimination result of rejected bills may change to be normal bills due to change in the discrimination result due to a non-reproducible transport situation, Rejected bills can be reduced. For this reason, it becomes possible to reduce the number of banknotes that are discriminated as unusable and dormant in the reject storage, and the efficiency of funds can be improved. As a result, the acceptance rate of deposited banknotes at the time of deposit transaction is also improved, so the banknotes returned to the customer can be reduced by distinguishing rejected banknotes, the customer service is improved, and the operation rate of the banknote is improved. A device can be provided.
