Description

The present invention relates to a banknote handling apparatus incorporated in an automatic transaction apparatus that performs various transactions by operations of customers and the like.

The conventional banknote processing apparatus collects the banknotes deposited at the time of depositing in a stacking unit and stores the banknotes for dispensing in a stacking unit when the banknotes in the storage unit store the banknotes for withdrawal. The accumulated banknotes are replenished in the storage unit while aligning the front and back sides of the banknotes so that they can be dispensed with the front and back sides of the banknotes aligned (see, for example, Patent Document 1).
Also, banknotes with the “front” of the banknotes deposited at the time of depositing are stored in the storage section for withdrawal, while banknotes with the “back” are stored in the batch storage section. When the banknotes in the storage section are less than the predetermined storage amount, the banknotes with the “back” stored in the batch storage section on top are replenished to the storage section with the front and back aligned, There are some that allow the withdrawal to be made with the front and back aligned (see, for example, Patent Document 2).
Japanese Patent No. 2647473 (page 3, FIG. 4) Japanese Unexamined Patent Publication No. 2000-11238 (paragraphs “0030” to “0041”, FIGS. 3 and 4)

However, in the conventional technique described above, the banknotes with the “back” (or “front”) on the top of the banknotes deposited are temporarily stored in a batch storage unit or the like, and are used for withdrawal when depositing. Since the banknotes stored in the storage section for storing the banknotes are reduced, the replenishment operation for replenishing the banknotes stored in the batch storage section or the like to the storage section is frequently performed, and the withdrawal operation is performed during the replenishment operation. In addition, there is a problem that it is impossible to perform deposit and withdrawal transactions unless a batch storage unit or the like is attached.

An object of the present invention is to solve such a problem.

Therefore, the present invention has separating means for separating and feeding out banknotes one by one, and taking-in means for taking in the banknotes on the same side as the separating means, and accepting the insertion of banknotes to be deposited and A customer service part that separates and feeds out banknotes taken in by the take-in means, a banknote storage cassette that stores banknotes, and a first bank that transports banknotes fed out from the separation means of the service part to the banknote storage cassette. A conveyance path, a discrimination part for identifying banknotes on the first conveyance path, and a second conveyance path for conveying the banknotes identified by the discrimination part to the taking-in means of the customer service part, at the time of deposit transaction, The banknote discriminated from the one side of the front and back by the discrimination unit is conveyed and stored in the banknote storage cassette in the first transport path, and the banknote discriminated from the other side is stored in the second transport path by the customer service unit. Take The bills are conveyed and returned, and the bills are fed out again by the separating means of the customer service unit, and are conveyed to the bill storage cassette in the first conveyance path so that the front and back of the bills are aligned and stored. And

According to the present invention as described above, the front and back of the banknotes for withdrawal can be aligned and stored in the banknote storage cassette at the time of deposit, and the frequency of the replenishment operation is reduced, and the withdrawal operation is less likely to be disturbed. An effect is obtained.

Are taken in and accumulated in the bill holding member 2 (returned to the customer service section 1).
Note that banknotes whose denomination or conveyance abnormality is detected and identified as reject banknotes are conveyed to the non-use cassette 8 by the conveyance path 10b, the conveyance path 10h, and the conveyance path 10g, and are taken in by the taking-in means.

Such a process is repeated, and all the banknotes accumulated in the temporary storage unit 5 are fed out one by one, and the banknotes that have been identified as normal and “table” are directed to each denomination cassette with the “table” as the lower side. The banknotes that have been identified as normal and “back” are conveyed to the customer service section 1 with the “front” facing downward and accumulated, and the banknotes that have been identified as reject banknotes are transported to the non-use cassette 8.
Next, as shown in FIG. 5, the banknotes transported to the customer service unit 1 are separated again from the customer service unit 1 by the feeding means and fed out to the discrimination unit 3 through the transport path 10a and the transport path 10b. The discrimination unit 3 discriminates the denomination, front and back of the banknotes, and detects conveyance abnormalities such as heavy running, chaining and skewing.

As a result, denominations are confirmed, and banknotes that have been identified as normal and “table” with no conveyance abnormality detected are counted and conveyed to each denomination cassette via the conveyance path 10b. The bill is stored in the cassette 4a or the bill storage cassette 4b, and the thousand yen bill is stored in the bill storage cassette 4c or the bill storage cassette 4d.
Here, since all the banknotes in the customer service section 1 are accumulated with the “table” as the lower side, all banknotes are identified as “front” in the discrimination section 3.

Note that banknotes whose denomination or conveyance abnormality is detected and discriminated from rejected banknotes are transported to the banknote cassette 8 by the transport path 10b and the transport path 10g and are captured by the capturing means.
Such processing is repeated, and all the banknotes accumulated in the customer service section 1 are fed out one by one, and the banknotes identified as normal are conveyed to each denomination cassette with the “table” below and stacked. The banknotes discriminated from the reject banknotes are transported to the lossy cassette 8.

Therefore, all the banknotes that can be withdrawn that have been transported to each denomination cassette are stacked with their “front” facing down and the front and back aligned.
The depositing operation is performed as described above.
In the present embodiment, the temporary holding unit 5 has been described as being separated from the banknote storage cassettes (4a to 4d). However, the banknotes identified as being depositable by the discrimination unit 3 at the time of deposit transaction are temporarily stored until the deposit is confirmed. As long as it can be held, the banknote storage cassette (4a to 4d) may be constituted by a holding (stacking) plate for temporarily holding the bills. In this case, the banknotes that are identified as normal and “table” are transported to the temporary storage unit 5 provided at the upper part of the banknote storage cassettes (4a to 4d) through the transport paths 10a and 10b (first transport path). The front is stored as the lower side, and the banknotes identified as normal and “back” are transported to the customer service section 1 by the transport path 10f and the transport path 10c (second transport path) so that the front and back of the banknotes are reversed. Also good.

Next, the operation at the time of withdrawal will be described based on FIG.
In addition, it is assumed that all the banknotes that can be withdrawn and transferred to each denomination cassette by the above-described depositing operation are stacked with the “front” facing downward and the front and back aligned.
The customer or financial institution operator specifies the withdrawal type and amount during the withdrawal transaction.
When there is a 10,000 yen banknote in the designated denomination, as shown in FIG. 6, banknotes are fed one by one from the banknote storage cassette 4a or the banknote storage cassette 4b by the stacking and feeding means and transported to the discrimination section 3 by the transport path 10b. When the designated denomination includes a thousand yen banknote, as shown in FIG. 6, the banknotes are fed one by one from the banknote storage cassette 4c or the banknote storage cassette 4d by the stacking and feeding means, and are identified by the transport path 10b. 3, and the discrimination unit 3 discriminates the denomination, front and back of the banknotes, and detects conveyance abnormalities such as double feeding, chaining, and skew feeding.

As a result, the banknotes identified as normal, whose denomination is confirmed and no abnormal transport is detected, are counted and transported to the customer service section 1 through the transport path 10c, and taken into the banknote holding member 2 by the taking-in means, and the "table""Is collected downward.
Also, the banknotes that have been identified as reject banknotes when the denomination or the conveyance abnormality is detected are conveyed to the reject cassette 9 by the conveyance path 10b, the conveyance path 10h, and the conveyance path 10g, and are taken in by the taking-in means.

When such a process is repeated and a specified number of 10,000 yen bills and 1000 yen bills are collected and arranged on the bill holding member 2 of the customer service portion 1, the bill holding member 2 changes its angle so that its opening faces upward. Then, the banknote with the shutter opened and the front and back sides aligned is paid to the customer or the operator, and when the banknote is taken out, the shutter is closed.
As described above, the dispensing operation is performed, and the bills with the front and back sides aligned are paid to the customer or the operator.

In this embodiment, all the banknotes accumulated in each denomination cassette at the time of depositing have been described so that the “front” is on the lower side, but not limited thereto, the “back” of the banknotes is on the lower side. May be.
Further, the replenishing and collecting cassette 6 has a bill taking-in port on the same side as a payout port for separating and feeding out stored bills, folds the bills taken from the bill taking-in port and separates them one by one by a separating means. By feeding in, the front and back of the banknote can be reversed.

When replenishing each denomination cassette from the replenishment / collection cassette 6, banknotes are separated one by one from the replenishment / collection cassette 6 by the feeding means and fed out to the discrimination unit 3 through the transport path 10 b. The banknotes that have been identified as normal and “table” are counted, transported to the respective denomination cassettes by the transport path 10b, and stored.
On the other hand, the banknotes that have been identified as normal and “back” are counted, transported to the banknote inlet through the transport path 10b and the transport path 10g, and stacked in the confirmed stacking unit. The banknotes accumulated in the definite accumulation unit are sent to the feeding means on a stage that can be moved up and down (not shown), separated one by one again, and fed out to the discrimination unit 3 through the conveyance path 10b. The banknotes identified as “table” are counted, transported to each denomination cassette by the transport path 10b, and stored.

In this way, even when replenishing from the replenishing and collecting cassette 6 to each banknote storage cassette, all the banknotes that can be withdrawn that have been transported to each denomination cassette are stacked with their “front” facing down and the front and back aligned. .
As described above, in this embodiment, the banknotes identified as “front” by the discrimination unit among the deposited banknotes are conveyed and accumulated in the banknote storage cassette, and are identified as “back” by the discrimination unit. After the banknotes are reversed by returning them to the customer service section, they are transported and accumulated in the banknote storage cassette, so that the front and back of the banknotes for withdrawal can be aligned and stored in the banknote storage cassette when depositing. The effect that the frequency with which operation | movement is performed can be reduced is acquired.

In addition, without providing a special reversing mechanism that reverses the front and back of the banknotes in a part of the banknote conveyance path, it is possible to align the front and back of the banknotes for withdrawal transactions during deposit transactions and store them in the banknote storage cassette. There is an effect that the apparatus is not increased in size and is not costly.
Further, since the replenishment / collection cassette is not used, the operation in the state where the replenishment / recovery cassette is removed can be maintained.
