<Prior Art> In a sheet separating apparatus using a sheet feeding roller, a friction member is brought into pressure contact with the sheet feeding roller as one means for preventing so-called double feeding in which a plurality of sheets are fed in a stacked state. By passing the paper sheet between the paper feed roller and the friction member, the paper sheets are separated and fed out one by one. As a conventional example of this type of sheet separating apparatus, there is one as shown in the side sectional view of FIG. 3 and the plan view of FIG. 4 (Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 55-135039).

That is, the friction member 52 that is brought into pressure contact with the sheet feeding roller 51 is the arm 53.
The arm 53 is loosely fitted to the shaft 54 at a position corresponding to approximately the center of the friction member 52 in the width direction,
Moreover, the bearing width w of the arm 53 is formed sufficiently narrow. Then, the arm 53 causes the friction member by the spring 55.
It is urged to rotate 52 in the direction of pressing it against the paper feed roller 51. As described above, the friction member 52 is installed so as to be pressed against the paper feed roller 51 with a uniform pressure over the entire width of the friction member 52 by supporting the friction member 52 at one point.

In the above structure, when the paper feed roller 51 is rotated in the direction of arrow A, the paper sheets P are separated and fed one by one through the space between the paper feed roller 51 and the friction member 52. That is, when an attempt is made to pass between the paper feed roller 51 and the friction member 52 in a state where a plurality of paper sheets are overlapped, the second and subsequent paper sheets are stopped due to the above-described relationship of the friction coefficient.

<Problems to be Solved by the Invention> The paper feed roller 51 and the friction member 52 need some shafts. However, in the above-described configuration, due to the curvature and the unevenness existing on the pressure contact surfaces of both the paper feed roller 51 and the friction member 52, the friction member 52 is actually pressed against the paper feed roller 51 at a uniform pressure over its entire width. It is difficult. Also friction member 52
Since the arm 53, which has been fixed, is loosely fitted to the shaft 54, the arm 53 may also swing in the rotation axis direction of the paper feed roller 51.

A substantially vertical apron portion 13 is formed in front of the pressure contact lever 9 in the sheet feeding direction, and a support groove 14 is formed by bending the center of the apron portion 13 into a substantially U shape. The press-contact piece 6 fitted into the support groove 14 is supported in a state where the projection 7 at the lower end of the support portion 6a is in contact with the bottom portion 14a of the support groove 14, and the projection pieces 8 at both ends are provided in the support groove 14. by a loosely sandwiched state bottom 14a, as the protrusion 7 is located at a distance position, i.e. from the paper feed roller 2 of L 1/2, which corresponds to an intermediate point of the two paper feed roller 2 It is positioned. Therefore, the press contact piece 6 can swing about the protrusion 7 as a fulcrum without moving in the support groove 14. Before feeding the paper sheet P, the chord portion 2b of the paper feed roller 2 is in a state of facing the paper sheet P and the friction member 5. In this state, the paper sheet P and the friction member 5 are in pressure contact with the auxiliary roller 4. Then, the rotation shaft 1 is rotated by a drive mechanism (not shown) to rotate the paper feed roller 2. At that time, the auxiliary roller 4
Is rotatably attached to the rotary shaft 1, it does not feed the paper sheet P or change the direction of the paper sheet P.

The paper feed roller 2 rotates so that the uppermost paper sheet Pa is placed on the arc portion 2a.
When is pressed, the paper sheet Pa is fed out between the arc portion 2a and the friction member 5. At this time, if a plurality of sheets of paper are attempted to pass between the circular arc portion 2a and the friction member 5 in a state of being overlapped with each other, the second and subsequent sheets of paper stop due to the relationship of the friction coefficient as described above, so that the uppermost paper Only one leaf Pa is separated and fed out. Moreover, since the friction member 5 is constantly pressed against both arc portions 2a with a uniform pressure, the paper sheet Pa is reliably separated and delivered without skewing.

As described above, each time the paper feed roller 2 makes one rotation, the paper sheet P is separated and fed out one by one. When the operation is stopped, the paper feed roller 2 is controlled so as to stop in a state where the chord portion 2b of the paper feed roller 2 faces the paper sheet P, that is, the paper sheet P is not pressed against the paper feed roller 2.

<Effect of Device> As described above, according to the paper sheet separator of the present invention, the auxiliary roller is provided between the two paper feed rollers, and the diameter of the auxiliary roller is smaller than the diameter of the arc portion of the paper feed roller. In addition, since the diameter of the chord portion of the paper feed roller is made larger than that of the chord portion of the paper feed roller, when the paper sheet is in contact with the circular arc portion when the feed roller is rotated, the paper sheet is fed,
When the sheet is in contact with the auxiliary roller, it automatically performs two operations of stopping the feeding of the sheet, and also suppresses the impact at the moment when the arc portion of the sheet feeding roller presses against the uppermost sheet. In addition, since the uppermost paper sheet is aligned with the peripheral wall of the auxiliary roller, the direction in which the force acts at the moment when the paper feed roller is pressed against the paper sheet can be made to approximately coincide with the paper sheet feeding direction. Therefore, a large number of stacked paper sheets can be reliably separated one by one, and the two paper feed rollers can evenly press the friction member against its arcuate portion, so that the paper can be delivered without skewing. .
