Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain recording paper suitable for a thick tag or the like for price indication while securing a good printing quality, by sticking a first and a second tucked papers together after printing thereon. CONSTITUTION:A first paper 1 is supplied from a winding roll 2 of thermo- transfer recording paper treated with tucking and printed while passing through between a thermal head 4 and a first platen 5. A separable paper 1a is peeled off by a peeling edge 6 after printing and wound up on a winding roll 7 or the separable paper. The applied side with an adhesive, of the first paper from which the separable paper is removed, is inserted in a pressing roller 10 through feed rollers 8, 9 constituted of rollers made of Teflon. In the contrary, a second paper 21 is supplied from a winding roll 22 of thermo-transfer recording paper and printed while passing through between a thermal head 24 and a platen 25 and inserted in the pressing roller 10. The second paper is stuck to the whole face of the first paper by the adhesive applied thereof to become a sheet of recording paper 11. The recording paper 11 is cut by a cutter 12 to obtain an appropriate length.

The above-mentioned double-sided printing is often required to print on a considerably thick paper such as a price tag. When using both thermal recording and thermal transfer recording, the thicker the paper, the less the heat generated during recording will cause adverse effects such as fogging on the opposite surface. Therefore, use thicker paper. It is preferable to do.

However, if the paper becomes thick, it is necessary to use high-grade paper or a thermal transfer ribbon in order to secure clear printing, and if the contact pressure is increased, the life of the thermal head is shortened and the durability of the mechanism is increased. There is also a problem that it decreases. When the paper becomes thicker, for example, about 1 mm, satisfactory print quality cannot be obtained regardless of the thermal recording method or the thermal transfer recording method, and the problem of faint printing cannot be avoided.

In this example, both sides of the recording paper are thermally transferred and recorded. In FIGS. 1 and 2, a first sheet 1 is supplied from a take-up 2 of a thermal transfer recording sheet which is a first sheet, and a first thermal head 4 and a first platen are fed through a feed roller 3. It is printed through the space between 5. This printing is performed by thermal transfer from the ribbon 14 supplied from the fed-out ribbon winding 13. The ribbon after printing is wound on the ribbon winding unit 15. After printing, the peeling paper 1a is peeled off by the peeling edge 6 and wound on the peeling paper winding 7. The first paper, from which the release paper has been peeled off, enters the pressure-bonding roller pair 10 through the feed rollers 8 and 9 whose sides to which the adhesive is applied are made of Teflon rollers.

On the other hand, the second paper 21 is supplied from the winding 22 of the thermal transfer recording paper, which is the second paper having the same width as the first paper, and is fed through the feed roller 23 to the second thermal head.
Printing is performed between 24 and the second platen 25. This printing is performed by thermal transfer from the ribbon 17 supplied from the fed-out ribbon winding 16. The ribbon after printing is wound on the ribbon winding 18. After printing, it enters the pressure roller pair 10 through the feed rollers 28 and 29.

In this way, the first sheet and the second sheet are put into the pressure roller pair 10 and are pressure-bonded to each other, so that the second sheet is perfectly and completely adhered by the adhesive of the first sheet. One sheet of recording paper 11 is obtained. This recording paper is cut into an appropriate length by the cutter 12 and becomes a final price tag or the like. Next, the drive system will be described with reference to FIG. The drive gear 32 coaxially connected by the drive motor 31 is rotated. Transmission gear 33 to this drive gear 32
Are connected, and are configured to rotate in the opposite direction to the drive gear 32 at the same rotation speed. The rotation of the transmission gear 33 is transmitted to the feed roller 3 via the feed roll drive belt 34.
Further, it is transmitted to the first platen drive gear 36 via the transmission gear 35 to rotate the first platen 5. Further, the roll driving belt 37 drives the feed rollers 8 and 9 and the lower roller of the pressure roller pair 10 from the shaft of the first platen 5. The drive system of the second sheet transport section, which is configured symmetrically to the drive system of the first sheet transport section, is driven in synchronization. The rotation of the drive gear 32 is driven by the feed roll drive belt.
It is transmitted to the feed roller 23 via 44. Further, the rotation is transmitted to the first platen drive gear 46 via the transmission gear 45 to rotate the second platen 25. Also the first platen 25

In the above example, the peeling edge 6 is provided immediately after the thermal head 4, but by arranging the peeling edge 6 immediately before the pressure roller 10 as much as possible, the feed rollers 8 and 9 in the figure. It is also possible not to use a Teflon roller for the lower roller. In the above example, the case where both the first sheet and the second sheet are thermal transfer recording sheets has been described. Of course, the first
The combination of the above paper and the second paper is not limited to the above example, and both may be thermal paper, or either one may be thermal paper and the other may be thermal transfer recording paper.

Particularly, when one of the first and second sheets is a thermal paper, the price is printed on the side of the thermal paper, and in the case of a gift or the like, this price is dried by a dryer or the like according to the customer's request. It is easy to change the color and make it unreadable by the heater.

EFFECTS OF THE INVENTION The first sheet subjected to tack processing is printed by the first thermal head, the second sheet is printed by the second thermal head in synchronization with the printing, and the first sheet after printing is printed. After peeling the release paper, the first paper and the second paper are bonded together. Therefore, as the obtained recording paper, a thick recording paper obtained by almost adding up the thicknesses of the first paper and the second paper can be obtained. Further, since printing is performed on each paper at the time of printing, it is possible to secure good printing quality with less blurring without using high-grade paper or a thermal transfer ribbon and increasing printing pressure.
