First, the ink is sucked from the ink bottle 10 and pressure-fed to the rear path by the supply pump 11. Unnecessary substances are removed from the pressure-fed ink by the filter 12, and the ink reaches the nozzle unit 15 where the ink is ejected and turned into particles through the pressure regulating valve 13 that keeps the pressure constant and the electromagnetic valve 14 that flows and stops the ink. The ink not used for printing is captured by the gutter 16, returned to the ink bottle 10 by the recovery pump 17, and circulated. Conventionally, this type of device has a problem that nozzle clogging or beam bending occurs due to air or unnecessary substances that have entered the nozzle during or during the ejection of ink. In particular, when using a pigment ink, when the apparatus is stopped, the pigment precipitates, and the precipitated pigment agglomerates and becomes coarse, and when it is directly supplied to the nozzle, it causes nozzle clogging. Therefore, a filter is provided immediately in front of the nozzle to prevent coarsening particles of the pigment formed on the primary side of the filter from being supplied to the nozzle, and by providing a circulation channel on the primary side of the filter, coarsening is performed. These particles were returned to the ink bottle or the air in the circulation system was evacuated to prevent nozzle clogging and beam bending. Further, even when the nozzle is clogged or the beam is bent, the cleaning liquid is forcibly poured from the tip of the nozzle to repair it (JP-A-58-217736, JP-A-4-4002).

Although the clogging can be removed by pouring the cleaning liquid from the nozzle tip, the coarse particles or unwanted substances that caused the nozzle clogging or beam bending should be completely removed because there is no escape path between the nozzle and the filter. There was also a problem that nozzle clogging occurs again due to the same phenomenon. In order to completely remove this, the nozzle unit had to be disassembled and washed.

However, the pigment component precipitated by re-creating the flow is washed away, and the precipitate can be removed. This can be achieved by not forming the ink stagnation portion on the secondary side of the filter in the nozzle unit. Further, the removal of the coarsening particles grown between the secondary side of the filter and the ink ejection port can be achieved by providing a flow path connecting from the secondary side of the filter to the ink bottle via the opening / closing means. .

Since it is washed away, it is possible to prevent nozzle clogging. Even if coarse particles are formed on the secondary side of the filter, the coarse particles can be removed by opening and closing the valve of the flow path connected to the ink bottle from the secondary side of the filter via the valve.

A major difference from the present invention is the structure of the secondary side of the filter 4, and in FIG. 2, the ink chamber 8a has a stagnation portion 8b, and the ink is precipitated at the portion 8b.
Therefore, the pigment component aggregates and coarsens over time. When the coarse particles flow into the nozzle, they cause nozzle clogging. On the other hand, in FIG. 1, since the ink chamber 2a has no stagnation portion and has a mortar shape, the ink flow is good even if the ink precipitates and does not accumulate. The ink chamber 2b on the primary side of the filter 4 has many stagnation portions and particles are likely to be coarsened, but the coarsened particles are not supplied to the nozzle 6 because of the filter 4.

At the time of normal ink ejection, the ink is ink bottle 1
It is sucked from 0 and is pumped to the rear path by the supply pump 11. The pressure-fed ink passes through the ink filter 12 and is ejected from the inside of the nozzle unit 18 via a pressure regulating valve 13 that regulates the pressure to a constant pressure and a solenoid valve 14 that controls the flow and stop of the ink. As shown in FIG. 3, the nozzle unit 18 is provided with a flow path 9c for ink circulation from the filter secondary side ink chamber 9a, and is connected to the ink bottle 10 through a solenoid valve 19 from this. Bleed the circulation system when air is likely to be mixed in, such as after maintenance of the equipment. This can be done by opening the solenoid valve 19 in the circulation channel. Further, even when the ink is settled and the particles may be coarsened, the coarsened particles are returned to the ink bottle 10 by opening the electromagnetic valve 19 in the circulation channel. Again, even if the as-coarsed particles are supplied, they are prevented from being supplied to the nozzle 6 because they are caught by the filter 12 or the filter 4 before reaching the nozzle 6.

Further, by providing the circulation passage, air and unnecessary substances in the circulation system can be removed, which is effective in preventing nozzle clogging and beam bending. Further, even when nozzle clogging occurs, by pouring the cleaning liquid from the nozzle tip, the cause of clogging can be completely removed from the nozzle unit, which is effective in reducing the frequency of nozzle clogging.
