Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent cleaning performance from being deteriorated and to prevent an abnormal image from being formed by preventing toner or paper powder from staying at the tip of a cleaning blade. CONSTITUTION:Vibrators 32 are fitted to the cleaning blade 31 and electrically connected to the control means 33 of a device main body. When recording is not executed, the vibrators 32 are controlled to be actuated by the control means 33 and the blade 31 is vibrated. Then, the toner or the paper powder staying at the tip of the blade 31 is made to fall and prevented from entering a gap between the blade 31 and a photosensitive body 12.

Embodiments of the present invention will be described below with reference to the drawings. FIG. 4 shows an overall schematic configuration of an internal mechanism of a laser printer which is an embodiment of the present invention. Reference numeral 10 in the drawing denotes the printer body. A drum-shaped photoconductor 12 is provided in the printer main body 10 substantially at the center thereof. Around the photoconductor 12, a charging device 13, a developing device 14, a transfer device 15, and a cleaning device 16 are arranged in this order in the driving direction indicated by the arrow. An optical writer 17 is arranged below the charger 13 and the cleaner 16, and a paper feed cassette 18 is arranged below the optical writer 17.

Then, the sheet is fed from the sheet feeding cassette 18 by the sheet feeding roller 19, and the sheet is conveyed to the upper side of the photoconductor 12 while the timing is adjusted by the registration roller pair 20. The photoconductor 12 is rotationally driven counterclockwise as shown by the arrow, and at that time, the surface thereof is uniformly charged by the charger 13, and the laser beam from the optical writing device 17 is irradiated to the photoconductor 12. Form an electrostatic latent image. This latent image is visualized by toner as it passes through the developing device 14.

Then, this visible image is transferred by the transfer device 15 to the lower surface of the sheet conveyed to the upper side of the photoconductor 12. The transferred sheet is guided by the conveyance guide 21 and conveyed between the fixing roller 22a and the pressure roller 22b of the fixing device 22 to fix the visible image. After fixing, the sheet exiting the fixing device 22 is further stacked on the paper discharge tray 24 by the paper discharge roller 23. On the other hand, the photoreceptor 12 after the transfer of the visible image is removed by the cleaning device 16 so that the residual toner remains.

Then, the toner remaining on the surface of the photoconductor 12 after the transfer of the visible image is removed by the tip of the cleaning blade 31. Then, as shown in FIG. 2, a part of the removed toner or paper dust may collect on the upper end of the cleaning blade 31 and enter between the cleaning blade 31 and the photosensitive member 12. Therefore, the controller 32 controls the vibrator 32 during non-recording to operate the cleaning blade.
The blade 31 is vibrated to drop the toner and the paper dust on the upper end thereof as shown in FIG.
