Abstract

PURPOSE:To print on a synthetic resin board through heat transfer without generating any warp and/or deformation on the same board. CONSTITUTION:The printing surface of a film 4, having a printing section made of thermal fusion ink, is contacted closely with the desired surface of a synthetic resin board 3, then, they are passed through a pair of rollers 1, 1 accommodating heaters whereby the printing section is transferred onto the synthetic resin board by heating and pressurizing from both sides thereof. According to this method, printing onto a synthetic resin board by heat transfer can be effected easily and, at the same time, both-sided simultaneous printing can be effected.

By the way, since synthetic resin is inexpensive and easy to mold, it is in great demand for name plates and decorative plates, but in the conventional method in which only the printing surface is heated. However, it cannot be used because the plate is warped or deformed. Therefore, the printed label is stuck or the transfer paper is used instead of printing, but these have poor durability and there is a step at the boundary between the stuck object and the plate, so it feels like sticking. However, I do not feel that I printed it.

According to the present invention, even a plate made of synthetic resin can be printed by thermal transfer without causing warping or deformation. The gist of the present invention is as follows. The desired surface of the synthetic resin plate is brought into close contact with the printing surface of the film having the printing portion by the heat-sealing ink, and is passed between a pair of rollers having a built-in heater to press and heat from both sides, and the printing portion Is transferred to the synthetic resin plate.

Since the synthetic resin plate is uniformly pressed and heated from both the front and back sides, warpage or deformation does not occur even if the plate is thin.

FIG. 1 is an explanatory view showing an embodiment of the present invention. (1) and (1) are rollers made of heat-resistant silicone rubber, (2) is a rotating shaft rotated by a motor (not shown), (3) is a thin synthetic resin plate, and (4) is a thermal transfer film. Shown respectively. Each roller is heated to the same temperature by a heater built in each rotating shaft.
This temperature can be adjusted within the range of normal temperature to 150 ° C by a predetermined temperature adjusting device (not shown). Further, each roller rotates in a direction indicated by an arrow in a state where the outer surfaces thereof are in contact with each other as shown in the drawing, and the distance between the rollers is adjusted according to the thickness of the synthetic resin plate. In FIG. 2, (4) shows a film for thermal transfer, and (5) shows a printing portion using the fusion ink. The film for thermal transfer is
When a constant temperature and pressure are applied, only the printed part is fused to the synthetic resin plate, and the other parts can be peeled off.

When inserted between (1), the synthetic resin plate is carried out in the direction of the arrow while being pressed by both rollers at a constant temperature. When the thermal transfer film of the synthetic resin plate that has been carried out is peeled off, only the printing portion remains on the surface of the synthetic resin plate, and printing is completed. As described above, even with a thin synthetic resin plate, the same temperature is conducted to both the front and back surfaces, and thermal contraction occurs at the same position on the front and back surfaces at the same time. Therefore, the synthetic resin plate does not warp or deform. Moreover, since the printing portion is fused, a sense of unity with the synthetic resin plate is obtained. In addition, the roller is
It may be manually rotated.

FIG. 3 shows a modified embodiment of the invention.
(6) is the non-adhesive surface of the film, which is a matte surface with a ground pattern on the roller surface, (7) is the mirror-finished surface of which the adhesive surface of the film is a mirror surface due to fusion, and (8) is the transfer Printed characters, (9) indicates a release sheet, respectively. In this way, it is also possible to use the property of thermal transfer to finish only a specific portion of the film into a mirror surface. Further, since both rollers have a built-in heater, it is possible to simultaneously perform thermal transfer on both front and back surfaces of the synthetic resin plate. In this case, if a transparent synthetic resin plate is used, characters and patterns are transferred to the front surface, and the background color is transferred to the back surface, the same effect as multicolor printing can be obtained. Furthermore, by shifting the printing position of characters and patterns and printing on both sides, a three-dimensional effect can be created.

According to the present invention, printing on a synthetic resin plate by thermal transfer, which has heretofore been difficult, can be easily performed. Moreover, double-sided simultaneous printing is possible. In addition, various special effects can be produced by utilizing the characteristics of thermal transfer in which the film contact surface and the non-contact surface have different finishes.
