Abstract

(57)【要約】 【目的】本発明は、継手本体の口径が大きい場合やエル
ボ、チーズ等の形状が大きな管継手であっても大きな射
出成型機を必要とせずに成形が可能で、また接続に当た
って容量の大きなコントローラを用いなくとも融着接続
でき、更に接続口径に応じた適正な電力で融着接続でき
るプラスチック管継手を提供するものである。 【構成】接続プラスチック管を内挿する筒状の内周側に
電熱線を埋設し該電熱線の両端は外面に突出するコネク
ターピンに連結した熱可塑性プラスチック材料よりなる
接続部材を複数個設け、前記接続部材の各々の端部を熱
融着接合し一体化したことを特徴とするプラスチック管
継手である。

Description

【発明の詳細な説明】
【0001】
【従来の技術】従来特開平2−30508号公報で開示
された図3に示す電気融着式プラスチック管継手があ
る。このものは継手本体Aの内周側一端から他端に亘っ
て電熱線2を埋設し、電熱線2の両端は本体Aの両端に
設けたコネクターピン6と連結したものである。
【0002】この種の管継手は通常金型内に溶融樹脂を
射出成型して形成する。また接続に当たっては本体Aの
両端内面にプラスチック管P,Pを挿入し、コントロー
ラよりコネクターピン6にほぼ一定の出力電圧を通電し
て電熱線2を発熱させ、挿入したプラスチック管P,P
を同時に融着接続するものである。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】上記従来のプラスチッ
ク管継手は、接続する継手本体Aの口径が大きくなると
継手本体の成形に大きな金型と大きな射出容量の射出成
型機が必要となり、成型作業も本体プラスチックの熱容
量との関係から成型時間が長くなり、困難を伴う。
【0004】またプラスチック管Pとの接続作業におい
ても、継手本体Aの両側に挿入した管P,Pを同時に融
着接続するため、発熱面積が大きくなり、電熱線2に通
電するコントローラの電力容量も大きなものが必要であ
る。すなわちコントローラの電力容量Wは電流I*電圧
Eであり、電熱線に与える電気エネルギーJは電流I*
電圧E*時間Tであるが、電熱線に通電する時間Tが大
きすぎてもまた小さすぎても適正な管との接続状態が得
られず、適正な接続状態を得るためには、継手本体Aと
プラスチック管Pとの熱伝達の関係からある適正な通電
時間Tがある。
【0005】このためコントローラの電力容量Wも電気
エネルギーJに応じて大きなものが必要である。さらに
接続口の口径が異なる管継手の異径品では、両側に挿入
した管とを同時に接続するため、継手本体の大口径側の
電気エネルギーが不足したりあるいは小口径側の電気エ
ネルギーが過大になったりして両側の管共適正な接続状
態で接続するのが困難であった。
【0006】本発明は上記の課題を解消して、継手本体
の口径が大きい管継手であっても大きな射出成型機を必
要とせずに成形が可能で、また接続に当たって容量の大
きなコントローラを用いなくとも融着接続でき、更に接
続口径に応じた適正な電力で融着接続できるプラスチッ
ク管継手を提供するものである。

【課題を解決するための手段】本発明は、接続プラスチ
ック管を内挿する筒状の内周側に電熱線を埋設し該電熱
線の両端は外面に突出するコネクターピンに連結した熱
可塑性プラスチック材料よりなる接続部材を複数個設
け、前記接続部材の各々の少なくとも1つの端部を熱融
着接合して一体化したことを特徴とするプラスチック管
継手である。

【作用】本発明によれば、夫々に設けた接続部材同士ま
たは金型内に射出する溶融樹脂と接続部材間で熱融着接
合して一体化し、管継手を形成したものであるため、特
に大口径の管継手であっても射出容量の大きな射出成型
機や金型を用いなくても製作が容易に出来、また製作時
の成形作業が容易に行える。またプラスチック管との接
続作業においても、管継手の接続口毎に通電して接続作
業が行えるため大容量のコントローラを用意しなくとも
接続でき、更に口径に応じた電力を通電して適正な接続
状態が得られる。

【実施例】以下本発明の実施例を図面を参照して説明す
る。図1において10、11は夫々別々に成型して得た
接続部材を示し、この接続部10、11は接続すべきプ
ラスチック管50、51を挿入できる内径を有し、筒状
で内周側に電熱線12を螺旋状に埋設してある。接続部
材10、11の両端には外面側に突出するコネクターピ
ン13、14が夫々埋設してあり、このコネクターピン
13、14に電熱線12の両端を接続してある。この接
続部材10、11は通常、熱可塑性プラスチック材料を
射出成型機によって金型内に射出して成形する。
【0010】このようにして得た接続部材10、11の
夫々の端面15、16を熱板20に当てる。熱板20は
ヒータ21を内装しているので端面15、16は加熱さ
れて溶融される。溶融状態に達したら熱板20を外し、
素早く夫々の端面15、16同士を互いに押し当てる。
端面は互いに溶融状態のため両接続部材10、11は熱
融着接合して一体化する。以上のようにして図2に示す
ごとくのソケット形の電気融着式プラスチック管継手が
形成される。熱融着接合部には内面側と外面側に融着時
のビード17、18が突き出るが、内面側のビード17
は管継手にプラスチック管50、51を挿入したときの
ストッパーの役目をする。
【0011】管との接続に当たっては、図2のごとく継
手本体の一端側にプラスチック管51を挿入した後、コ
ントローラ3をコネクターピン13、14に実線で示す
ごとく接続して電熱線12に通電する。電熱線12はプ
ラスチック管51の挿入側継手本体の片側で一系統のた
め、発熱面積は両側同時に発熱させるものに比べて半分
のため、コントローラの電力容量も約半分のもので行
え、また管51の口径や接続条件に応じた適正な融着接
続が行える。

【発明の効果】以上説明のごとく本発明の電気融着式プ
ラスチック管継手は、接続部材を熱融着接合して一体化
したものであるため、射出容量の大きな射出成形機を必
要とせず、またプラスチック管との接続作業に際しても
電力容量の小さなコントローラで大口径のプラスチック
管と接続することができる。更に口径に応じた電気エネ
ルギーでプラスチック管との適正な接続状態の融着接続
が行える。

    【特許請求の範囲】
  1. 【請求項1】 接続プラスチック管を内挿する筒状の内
    周側に電熱線を埋設し該電熱線の両端は外面に突出する
    コネクターピンに連結した熱可塑性プラスチック材料よ
    りなる接続部材を複数個設け、前記接続部材の各々の少
    なくとも1つの端部を加熱した後互いに圧着して熱融着
    接合し一体化したことを特徴とするプラスチック管継
    手。
