する。熱可塑性材料の補強リングをスリーブ部材の外周
に摩擦連結する。

【発明の詳細な説明】
【0001】
【産業上の利用分野】本発明は溶着スリーブ又はソケッ
ト及び溶着スリーブの製造方法に関する。
【0002】
【従来の技術】商業的に有用なパイプはある程度広い許
容度を有し、且つかなり楕円である。これによると、ス
リーブの内径を非常に大きく設計することが要求され
る。又、容易に取付け可能にするために、付加的な大き
い熱伸長又は歪みにより、大径を有する溶着スリーブを
電気的に生ぜしめ、結果として溶着域で圧力が減少す
る。
【0003】溶着スリーブは欧州特許出願公開第022228
7 号明細書に開示されており、ここでは、ポリオレフィ
ンのスリーブ部材より熱膨脹係数の低い材料で補強部材
を形成してスリーブ本体中でスリーブ材料を溶着しやす
くしている。充分な溶着に必要な溶着圧力は溶着工程中
に補強部材の伸長又は拡開がより小さい場合に得られ
る。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】しかしながら、溶着工
程中に環境温度に応じてスリーブ部材と補強部材との間
で熱膨脹係数が変わるとプレストレスが変わる。例えば
−10℃より+45℃の方が溶着圧力が異なる。故に安定し
た操作可能性は保証され得ない。パイプ形状部材又は巻
線若しくはコイルとして形成された補強部材は防錆性が
なく、故に中間圧力に対しても作用する、溶着スリーブ
の補強部材として永続性がない。
【0005】溶着スリーブの上記及び従来の欠点を克服
するために、本発明は、溶着時の種々の環境温度にて安
定した操作性が得られる経済的な溶着スリーブを提供す
ることを目的とする。本発明の別の目的は、例えば160m
m を超える大径に使用でき、防錆性のある溶着スリーブ
を提供することである。又、本発明の別の目的は、簡単
な、自動方法で溶着スリーブを製造する方法を提供する
ことである。

【課題を解決するための手段】本発明の上記及び他の目
的は、以下に明らかとなるが、開示した溶着スリーブ及
びその製造法により達成され、熱可塑性材料により形成
されたスリーブ部材を有する溶着スリーブからなる。ス
リーブ部材の内面は抵抗巻線を有し、外周は補強リング
を備える。補強リングはスリーブの外周に圧縮されてお
り、巻回しているので、円周応力を有する。これらの応
力はスリーブ部材に半径方向に作用し、良好な溶着接合
に要求される溶着圧力を増す。

【実施例】図は好ましくは熱可塑性溶着可能材料から形
成されたスリーブ部材1を有する硬質パイプ形状部品又
はパイプ用の溶着スリーブを示す。抵抗巻線3はこのス
リーブの内面2に配置され、電源連結用に例えば結合線
材4又は差込形結線を含む。
【0008】補強リング6はスリーブ部材1の外周5に
配置され、収縮又は加圧による摩擦接着法にてスリーブ
部材1に結合している。又、補強リング6は熱可塑性材
料、好ましくはポリエチレンのようなポリオレフィンか
ら形成される。補強リング6を加熱してスリーブ1周り
にプレスし、その後急速に冷却すると、付加的な収縮応
力が固定化し、パイプ部品に関する溶着工程にまで残留
し、その後溶着圧力を得るために完全に利用できる。補
強リング6をスリーブ部材1に装着する際に、補強リン
グ6をスリーブ部材1にプレスする。このとき既にスリ
ーブ部材1は抵抗巻線3を備えている。
【0009】補強リング6を、使用材料及び直径に応じ
て、スリーブ部材の温度より高温に加熱することが必要
であるか又は有利である。摩擦的接合によりスリーブ部
材1の外周に熱可塑性材料を使用することにより、内方
向の圧力が生じるが、これは溶着中に応力が生じるため
である。内方向の圧力は溶融した材料に作用して、良好
な溶着結合に必要な溶着圧力を生じる。補強リング6の
熱膨脹係数はスリーブ部材1の熱膨脹係数に非常に一致
するので、等しい溶着圧力条件がすべての環境温度にて
保証される。溶着工程中に固定した応力は加熱により除
去され、スリーブ部材及び溶融材料に半径方向の圧力と
して作用する。
【0010】スリーブ部材1の外径Dは可能な範囲で加
熱した補強リング6の内径より僅かに大きく、ここにリ
ング6は寸法を拡げることにより拡大される。拡大工程
で補強リング6の周方向にわたる応力を生じ、これは半
径方向圧力として溶着工程中に溶着圧力を増やす。補強
リング6の加熱温度を選択することにより、応力形成す
るための冷却に際して補強リング6の寸法変化を利用で
き、結合した圧縮嵌合が得られる。
【0011】溶着域中の溶融材料のために、スリーブ部
材1の剛性は付加的に減少し、これにより半径方向の圧
力が増える。これは溶着圧力を増やし、付加的により許
容度の大きい硬質の溶着接合を確実にする。

【0013】補強リング6の壁厚S2 はスリーブ部材1
の壁厚S1 より有利に薄いか又は僅かに厚い。薄いと材
料の節約になる。
【0014】本発明の好ましい実施態様を詳細に示した
が、これの変更態様及び改良態様は、特許請求の範囲に
規定した本発明の精神及び範囲から逸脱することなく行
うことができる。

Claims (8)

    【特許請求の範囲】
  1. 【請求項1】 熱可塑性溶着可能材料からなるスリーブ
    部材;前記スリーブ部材の内面の抵抗巻線;及び前記ス
    リーブ部材の外周に連結した熱可塑性材料からなり、前
    記スリーブ部材の外周に摩擦連結した補強リングを備え
    たことを特徴とする溶着スリーブ。
  2. 【請求項2】 更にプレスフィットを含み、前記補強リ
    ング6を前記スリーブ部材の外周に連結したことを特徴
    とする請求項1記載の溶着スリーブ。
  3. 【請求項3】 前記補強リングがスリーブ部材と同じ熱
    可塑性材料からなり、好ましくはポリオレフィンである
    ことを特徴とする請求項1記載の溶着スリーブ。
  4. 【請求項4】 前記補強リングがスリーブ部材と同じ熱
    可塑性材料からなり、好ましくはポリオレフィンである
    ことを特徴とする請求項2記載の溶着スリーブ。
  5. 【請求項5】 前記補強リングが周方向に冷却潜在応力
    を有することを特徴とする請求項1〜4のいずれか1つ
    に記載の溶着スリーブ。
  6. 【請求項6】 前記スリーブ部材の外径より小さい内径
    を有する補強リングを製造するステップ;前記スリーブ
    部材に前記リングをプレスするステップ;及び前記リン
    グを延伸すると同時に、拡開により生じた円周応力がス
    リーブ部材に半径方向に作用することを特徴とする溶着
    スリーブを製造する方法。
  7. 【請求項7】 補強リングを加熱した後スリーブ部材に
    プレスするステップ;及び生じた収縮応力が固定するよ
    うに補強リングを急速に冷却するステップを更に含むこ
    とを特徴とする請求項6記載の方法。
  8. 【請求項8】 前記スリーブ部材に抵抗巻線を設けるこ
    とを特徴とする請求項6又は7記載の方法。
