Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable execution of measurement wherein coloration is effected quickly without deterioration of color and elution, by a simple constitution, by incorporating amine in the composition and by using specific resin as a binder. CONSTITUTION:Amine is added to a composition so as to simplify a constitution and to prevent deterioration of color. For this purpose, aliphatic amine which has as large a basic property as possible and of which the number of carbons is 12 or above in view of durability is used. A binder is used for fixing a pH indicator and others on a support, and resin having both a hydrophilic group and a hydrophobic group and shown in the formula is used therefor. In the formula R<1> and R<2> denote hydrogen and an alkyl group and R<3> the alkyl group and m/n is 25/1 to 1/15. Thereby elution of the indicator into a liquid to be inspected is eliminated and quick coloration can be attained. As for the pH indicator, two or more kinds of indicators are mixed to be used therefor and thereby a pH area of a wide range can be measured. Moreover, an ink composition to which water-absorbing powder and a solvent are added is applied on the support to form a measuring area, and thereby precise measurement can be made easy.

Conventionally, a pH test paper obtained by impregnating a filter paper with an aqueous solution of a plurality of pH indicators and drying it has been widely used. For example, the pH test strip described in Japanese Examined Patent Publication No. 38-24200 is a pH test strip composed of an absorber carrying a pH indicator dye and polyvinyl alcohol as a uniform mixture. The cost was high because there were many. Further, JP-B-44-25953 discloses a pH test piece obtained by sticking a plurality of pH indicators and water-absorbing powder on a support. However, this is an indicator in which discoloration due to drying after dipping is remarkable. Elution to the test solution is observed,
There were drawbacks such as the time required for coloring. In addition, JP-A-6
In JP-A 0-178362, JP-A-62-261060, and JP-A-1-138458, a pH ink composition containing a pH indicator is applied onto a support by a printing method, and the above problems are almost eliminated. Although it has been solved, there are many types of components in the ink, and it takes time to create the ink.

[Detailed Description] Each component will be specifically described below. (A) pH indicator In general, any indicator can be used as long as it is an indicator whose color tone changes according to the hydrogen ion concentration in the solution. Further, by appropriately mixing two or more kinds of pH indicators and using them, it is possible to measure a wide pH range. For example, if methyl red and bromothymol blue are combined, a satisfactory determination result can be obtained in the pH range of 5-9.

(B) Amine which is as basic as possible is preferable, and therefore aliphatic amine is preferable. However, if the melting point is lower than room temperature, durability will be a problem, so the carbon number is 12
The above is preferably used. Moreover, you may use what has two or more amino groups as an amine. Illustrative are dodecylamine, tetradecylamine, 1,
12-diaminododecane, hexadecylamine, octadecylamine and the like can be mentioned.

(C) Binder The binder is used for fixing the pH indicator, amine, and water-absorbing powder on the support, and a resin having both a hydrophilic group and a hydrophobic group is preferable. As such a resin, a resin represented by the general formula (Formula 1) is used. If R 1 R 2 is hydrogen, it is acrylic acid, and if it is a methyl group, it is methacrylic acid. When R 3 is a methyl group, it becomes methyl acrylate and methyl methacrylate, respectively. R 3 can be replaced with an alkyl group such as an ethyl group, a propyl group, a butyl group, etc. in addition to the methyl group.

In the formula (1), m / n is 25/1 to 1 /
The range of 15 is preferable, and when it is larger than 25/1, the hydrophobicity becomes strong and water repellency becomes impossible to measure the pH, and when it becomes smaller than 1/15, the hydrophilicity is too large and the test solution is immersed in , Will dissolve in water.

(D) Water-absorbing powder The water-absorbing powder, when blended in the reagent composition, promotes contact between the test liquid and the pH indicator and promotes the color reaction of the pH indicator. .. Therefore, as the water-absorbing powder, any substance may be used as long as it does not show extreme acidity or basicity when exposed to water and has high whiteness. Specifically, starch, kaolin, synthetic silica, glass, microcrystalline cellulose, ion exchange cellulose, aluminum silicate and the like are used.

(V) Solvent As the solvent, those which can dissolve or disperse the above-mentioned reagents, particularly the binder, uniformly and stably are desirable. Specifically, aromatic hydrocarbons, aliphatic hydrocarbons,
Esters, alcohols and the like are used. that's all,
The ink composition of (a) to (e) is applied to a support to form a measurement region, and in the application, a printing method, a coating method (for example, roll coating,
Spray coating, dip coating, solid coating, etc. are used. In the present invention, since the coating amount of the ink composition is relatively large and the coating amount is preferably constant, the ink composition is applied onto the support by a silk screen printing method, an intaglio printing method, a gravure printing method or the like. It is preferable to provide. It is desirable that the support does not react with the ink composition and does not hinder the color development of the reagent. Specifically, paper, synthetic paper, non-woven fabric, synthetic resin film or the like is used.

In the present invention, the composition can be simplified by adding amines such as dodecylamine, tetradecylamine, 1,12-diaminododecane, hexadecylamine and octadecylamine to the pH ink composition. By using a resin such as (Chemical Formula 1) that does not fade and that does not elute, it is possible to obtain an ink composition and a test body that rapidly develop color.

As described above, according to the present invention, since the measurement area provided on the test piece is colored sensitively to the pH of the solution, precise measurement results can be easily obtained. Also, although the number of components of the pH ink composition has been greatly reduced compared to the past, there is almost no change in performance, so the process of ink preparation is simplified and the cost of products of good quality is reduced.
