A flat disc knife and a concave circular knife ground into a saucer shape are each clamped onto a cutter shaft by a ring which determines the spacing of the knife blades. These rings abut each other by their sides in their small-diameter areas, and the disc knife is inserted into the groove or recess between these rings and is pressed against the collar of the groove wall by means of washer-type worm springs or cup springs. (1a)
(see Figures and Figure 2a). These springs counteract the spring pressure when the entire disc knife is pressed against the wall of the recess as a rigid member and both cutter shafts, each with a disc knife and a grooved knife, are tensioned axially against each other. The dimensions are such that it can be lifted more or less from the wall of the recess.

On the one hand, the clamping and deformation of such a flat disc knife may be effected solely by a plurality of rings pressed against each other and receiving the knife on the cutter shaft. To this end, the sides of these rings are shaped in such a way that the forces applied from both sides of the knife are applied along the circles of different diameters of the knife.

Such a saucer-shaped deformation can also be obtained by applying a spring or cup spring force to the disk knife. The spring is inserted between rings pressed together on the cutter shaft. The pressure of the spring and the thickness of the disc knife are adapted to each other in such a way that the disc knife assumes a saucer-like or cup-like shape by elastic deformation.
That is, the disc knife 1 is clamped between the rings 5 pressed together on the cutter shaft 3, and the disc knife 1 is placed in the recess 7 formed by the step on the side of the ring 5. The cup spring 13, which springs the disc knife 1 into engagement with the side surface of one ring 5, is recessed 7.
the cup spring 13 has an outer diameter (DTellerf) larger than the diameter of the ring 5;
In a slitter for longitudinal cutting of a web of film material, which comprises at least one clamping device for clamping a flat disk knife 1, the disk knife 1 is not only elastically pressed against the side surface of one ring 5; so that the portion beyond the edge 17 of the ring 5 is elastically deformed in the axial direction,
The spring pressure of the cup spring 13 and the thickness 15 of the disc knife 1 are mutually adjusted.

FIG. 3 is a diagram explaining the principle on which the present invention is based. When applying force along circular lines of different diameters d and D to both sides of the flat disc knife 1,
This knife has an arcuate cross section. The force, the material of the blade, and the amount of deflection of the disc are selected such that the disc knife recovers its flat shape when the force is removed. In this way, the advantage of being able to radially resharpen the entire pack of adjacent disk knives is retained.

FIG. 4 shows a clamping device which allows a saucer-like or cup-like deformation of the disc knife 1 only by means of rings 5 pressed against each other. Therefore, all rings 5 are formed in the same shape. Circular edges 9 and 11 with diameters d and D, respectively, cause elastic deformation of the flat disc knife 1. The width and depth of the groove 7 are selected such that the disc knife 1 can be freely deflected.

The disc knife is tightened only along the two circular edge portions 9, 11 of the two adjacent rings 5;
The intermediate space of the recess 7 also has dimensions such that the disk knife 1 is elastically deflected in the axial direction. Precisely, the desired flexural deformation of the disc knife 1 is obtained by the dimensions of the circular edges 9 and 11 corresponding to FIG. 4. The disc knife 1 has a thickness of 0.4 to 0.5 mm.

Further, due to the stepped shape of the ring 5 shown in FIG. 5, a safe and accurate mounting state can be obtained when the disc knife 1 is clamped by the cup spring 13 and the ring 5 on the cutter shaft 3. In the case of the conventional clamping device shown in FIG. 1a, if a small inadvertent event causes the ring 5, the disc knife 1 and the cup spring 13 to align, the disc knife 1
may enter between ring 5. This makes it impossible to press the rings 5 flat against each other. In the case of Fig. 5, even if each member is loosely assembled, the disc knife 1 has a diameter of
reliably centered on the stage of ring 5 with dSch,
The cup spring 13 is also mounted on its own ring stage. The disc knife 1 is received in a recess 7 formed by a step on the side of the ring 5 which is much wider than its thickness, whereas the cup spring 13 is formed in the adjacent ring 5 and is received in a recess 7 which is much wider than its thickness. It is seated on a step 23 having a diameter larger than the inner diameter dSch of 1. Further, the portion indicated by the broken line in FIG. 5 indicates the operating state.
