[Industrial Application Field] The present invention relates to a conjugated diene-based rubbery polymer composition with improved processability and vulcanizable physical properties. Regarding the rubber-like polymer composition having excellent rebound properties, heat-generating properties, etc., vulcanized rubber using the rubber-like polymer composition is suitable for use in tires, mainly tire treads. [Prior Art] In recent years, due to the soaring price of crude oil, energy conservation has been advocated in various industries. Many attempts have been made to reduce gasoline consumption in automobiles, including engine improvements, car bodies, and Efforts are being made to reduce the weight of tires, the air resistance of car bodies, and the rolling resistance of tires. In attempts to save energy related to these automobiles, various attempts have been made to reduce the rolling resistance of automobile tires, such as methods to improve the structure of tires, and improvements in the additives used in tire tread. Examples include improvements to sulfur rubber. In an attempt to reduce the rolling resistance of these tires, vulcanization is a method to improve vulcanized rubber, that is, to reduce energy loss in vulcanized rubber and improve rebound resilience or heat generation. Methods of improving the raw material rubber used for rubber, changing the type of carbon black, and reducing the amount of carbon black or oil used in vulcanized rubber to increase repulsion are being considered. Among the above improvement methods, the method of improving raw rubber is to use a polymer with a higher molecular weight than before, based on the knowledge regarding the physical properties of raw rubber and the physical properties of vulcanized rubber. Although improvements can be made, the Mooney viscosity of the rubber and compound increases and processability decreases, making it impossible to make a significant improvement. On the other hand, changing the formulation to reduce the amount of oil and carbon black increases the Mooney viscosity of the mixture, and in this case too, the processability deteriorates. It is difficult to improve without doing so. On the other hand, there are several known techniques for improving processability by changing the structure of polymers used as raw rubber. For example, Japanese Patent Publication No. 49-36957 discloses a method of improving processability by forming a branched polymer by using tetrahalosilane or trihaloalkylsilane as a coupling agent. In the case of a polymer according to the above, the impact resilience of the vulcanizate is insufficient, and the improvement in rolling resistance is unsatisfactory. It is also known that processability can be improved by widening the molecular weight distribution of a polymer or increasing the degree of branching, but even when rubber-like polymers obtained by these methods are used, The impact resilience of the vulcanizate is about the same as before the processability improvement. JP-A-57-87407 and JP-B-58-162605 disclose that when styrene-butadiene copolymer rubber with an increased vinyl content is tin-coupled to form a branched styrene-butadiene copolymer rubber, butadiene is added immediately before the coupling reaction. A method has been shown in which rolling resistance is improved by polymerizing with the addition of compounds such as: However, even with this method, the improvement in rolling resistance is still not sufficient, and there are problems such as the manufacturing method becoming complicated. For this reason, there has been a demand for a rubber-like polymer that can further improve rolling resistance without complicating the production method and reducing processability. [Problems to be Solved by the Invention] The present invention has been made in view of the above-mentioned points.
This was done in order to obtain a rubbery polymer composition with improved exothermic properties. [Means and effects for solving the problems] The present invention is based on the discovery that a conjugated diene compound polymer or a vinyl aromatic compound-conjugated diene compound copolymer with a specific polymer structure satisfies the above objects. It is based on That is, the present invention provides a) a rubbery conjugated diene compound polymer or a rubbery vinyl aromatic compound-conjugated diene compound copolymer, which comprises: (1) 10% by weight or more of the molecules constituting the rubbery polymer; 80% by weight is bonded in a branched manner by a trifunctional or higher branching agent, (2) and 20% by weight of the molecules constituting the rubbery polymer.
Among molecules to which a monofunctional or difunctional active tin compound is added to 90% by weight and which has been subjected to the treatment of (3) (1) or (2),
At least a rubber-like conjugated diene compound polymer or a comb-like vinyl aromatic compound-conjugated diene compound copolymer is used as a rubber component in which the molecules bonded to the active tin compound account for 50% to 100% by weight of the molecules constituting the polymer. This is a rubber-like polymer composition for vulcanized rubber, which contains as essential components a raw material rubber of 30% by weight, b) reinforcing carbon black, c) aliphatic carboxylic acid, and d) sulfur. The present invention will be described in detail below. The rubbery polymer used in the present invention is a trifunctional lithium living polymer obtained by polymerizing a conjugated diene compound or copolymerizing a conjugated diene compound and a vinyl aromatic compound using a lithium-based catalyst. branching agent with more than one functionality, and a monofunctional or difunctional branching agent.
It is obtained by reacting with a functional active tin compound. As the lithium catalyst, monoalkyllithium compounds such as n-butyllithium, sec-butyllithium, and n-propyllithium are used. Polymerization is carried out in an inert hydrocarbon solvent such as benzene, toluene, hexane, cyclohexane. Polymerization temperature is generally in the range of 30°C to 180°C, and 30°C to 150°C to prevent deactivation of active terminals.
is preferred. As a monomeric conjugated die compound,
Typically, 1,3-butadiene, isoprene, etc. are used, and as vinyl aromatic compounds, styrene and α-methylstyrene are mainly used. During polymerization, cocatalyst components include ethers such as diethyl ether, dimethoxyethane, diglyme, and tetrahydrofuran, amines such as triethylamine and tetramethylethylenediamine, hexamethylphosphorotriamide, and sodium salt or potassium dodecylbenzenesulfonic acid. Various polar compounds, such as salts and alcoholates such as sodium butoxide, can be added to modify the microstructure or sequence of the homopolymer or copolymer. Regarding the composition of such a polymer, the content of the vinyl aromatic compound is preferably in the range of 0 to 50%, particularly preferably in the range of 0 to 35% for tire use.
Furthermore, when butadiene is used as the conjugated diene compound, the 1,2-vinyl bond in its microstructure is in the range of 10 to 80%. The optimum value for the amount of 1,2-vinyl bonds in the vinyl aromatic compound or butadiene moiety varies depending on the use of the rubbery polymer composition of the present invention. , the content of vinyl aromatic compounds and the amount of 1.2-vinyl bonds are preferably small. For example, the vinyl aromatic compound content is 0 to 20%, and the amount of 1.2-vinyl bonds is 10 to 30%.
On the other hand, if wet skid properties (slip resistance on a wet surface) are important, for example, the content of vinyl aromatic compounds should be 15 to 35%, and the amount of 1.2-vinyl bonds in the butadiene moiety should be 30 to 30%. A range of 80% is preferred. The content of the above aromatic compound is determined by the amount of monomer feed during polymerization, and the amount of 1,2-vinyl bonds in the butadiene portion is determined by the amount of polar compounds such as tetrahydrofuran added during polymerization and the polymerization temperature. can be controlled. The Mooney viscosity of the living polymer before reacting with the active compound is preferably in the range of about 3 to 60 from the viewpoint of vulcanization properties and processability of the final polymer. A range of 10 to 50 is particularly preferred. In addition, the molecular weight distribution of this living polymer is preferably relatively narrow when emphasis is placed on the impact resilience or heat generation properties of the vulcanizate of the final polymer, and the range is such that Mw/Mn is 1.6 or less, preferably 1.4 or less. When placing importance on the balance between rebound resilience or exothermic property of the final polymer vulcanizate and processability, the range is Mw/Mn of 1.6 or more and 3 or less, preferably 1.8.
~2.5. The method for obtaining these living polymers may be batch polymerization, continuous polymerization, or any other method as long as the purpose of the present invention can be achieved.
Any method can be used. The rubbery polymer used in the present invention can be obtained by reacting a polymer having living active terminals obtained by the above polymerization method with a trifunctional or more functional branching agent and a monofunctional or difunctional tin compound. It can be obtained by making part of the active polymer a branched polymer and making the remaining part or most part an unbranched tin addition polymer. The trifunctional or more branching agent used in the reaction has three or more halogen-tin bonds, halogen-silicon bonds, halogen-germanium bonds, alkoxy-tin bonds, aryl-tin bonds, benzyl-tin bonds in one molecule. Compounds containing dicarboxylic acid diesters, compounds containing three or more epoxy groups, compounds containing three or more carbonyl groups, etc. are used. Specifically, tin tetrachloride, monobutyltin trichloride, tetramethoxytin, silicon tetrachloride, ethylene bistrichlorosilane, diethyl adipate, epoxidized soybean oil, and the like are used. On the other hand, monofunctional or difunctional tin compounds are compounds containing one or two halogen-tin bonds, alkoxy-tin bonds, aryl-tin bonds, and benzyl-tin bonds in one molecule. . Specifically, trimethyltin chloride, tributyltin chloride, trioctyltin chloride, tributyltin bromide, dibutyltin dichloride, dioctyltin dichloride,
Phenyltributyltin, methoxytributyltin, benzyltributyltin, diphenyldibutyltin, dimethoxydibutyltin, dibenzyldibutyltin, phenoxytributyltin, diphenoxydibutyltin, tricyclohexyltin chloride, dicyclohexyltin dichloride,
Tridodecyltin chloride, didodecyltin dichloride, triethyltin chloride, diethyltin dichloride, tripropyltin chloride, dipropyltin dichloride, butyldimethyltin iodide, butyldicyclohexyltin bromide, dibutylvinyltin bromide,
diethyl phenyltin bromide, triphenyltin chloride, diphenyltin dichloride,
Tri-o-tolyltin bromide, tri-m-tolyltin chloride, tri-2-5-xylyltin bromide, trimethoxytin chloride, dimethoxytin dibromide, triphenoxytin chloride, diphenoxytin dibromide , tribenzyltin chloride, dibenzyltin dichloride, benzylphenyltin dibromide, benzylphenyltin dichloride, trinaphthyltin chloride, butyldiphenyltin chloride, methyldimethoxytin chloride, butylphenyltin dichloride, methylmethoxytin dichloride etc. are used. Furthermore, in the present invention, the term "active tin compound" refers to a tin compound that can react with a terminal lithium living polymer to form a polymer-Sn bond, such as halogen-Sn, alkoxy-Sn, aryl-Sn, It is a compound having a bond such as benzyl-Sn, and specifically refers to a tin compound, monofunctional, or difunctional tin compound used as a branching agent having three or more functionalities. This reaction with the active compound is carried out subsequent to the above-mentioned polymerization reaction, the reaction temperature is within approximately the same range as the polymerization reaction, and the reaction rate with the active compound is fast, resulting in almost instantaneous reaction. In the reaction with the living polymer, a trifunctional or higher branching agent and a monofunctional or difunctional tin compound may be reacted simultaneously, or a method may be adopted in which one is added and then the other is added. It's okay. In order to achieve the object of the present invention, 10% to 80% by weight of the molecules constituting the polymer are coupled with a trifunctional or higher branching agent, and further 20% of the molecules constituting the polymer Weight% ~ 90% by weight
A monofunctional or difunctional active tin compound is added to the polymer, and at least 50 of the molecules forming the polymer are treated with the active tin compound.
Must be in weight%. If the polymer molecules coupled with a trifunctional or higher-functionality branching agent are less than 10% by weight, cold flow tends to occur and processability is insufficient. The content is preferably 15% by weight or more, more preferably 20% by weight or more. Furthermore, if the amount of polymer molecules to which a monofunctional or difunctional active tin compound is added is less than 20% by weight, the impact improvement effect is small, and the amount is preferably at least 20% by weight. When the branching agent with trifunctionality or more is an active tin compound, the molecule coupled with the trifunctional or more active tin compound and the monofunctional or difunctional
If the total number of molecules to which functional activated tin compounds are added is at least 50% by weight of the molecules constituting the polymer, and the trifunctional or higher branching agent is a compound other than the activated tin compound, monofunctional or The fact that the molecules to which the difunctional active tin compound is added accounts for at least 50% by weight of the molecules constituting the polymer is important for the processability of the final rubber composition and for the impact resilience or heat resistance of the vulcanizate. It is necessary in terms of balance. Since the reaction between the living polymer and the active tin compound is almost quantitative, the amount treated with the above active tin compound can be controlled by equivalentization of each tin compound in the active lithium. It is possible. However, compared to the amount of lithium compound used at the beginning of the polymerization, the amount of active lithium is
Generally, the amount is small due to the influence of trace amounts of impurities contained in the polymerization system, and the amount of the active tin compound used is adjusted in consideration of these. The amount of polymer molecules coupled by a trifunctional or higher branching agent is, for example, determined by GPC (Gel-
separation of the coupled parts by permeation chromatography),
It can be determined by comparing the GPC curves before and after coupling. The rubbery polymer used in the present invention obtained as described above preferably has a Mooney viscosity (ML 100 ° C. 1+4 ) in the range of 25 to 150 in view of its processability and vulcanizable properties. If the Mooney viscosity is less than 25, the tensile strength or abrasion resistance of the resulting vulcanizate becomes a problem, and if the Mooney viscosity exceeds 150, processability becomes poor. The Mooney viscosity is more preferably 30 to 100. Further, the ratio (/ Mn ) of the weight average molecular weight () measured by GPC and the number average molecular weight () of the rubbery polymer used in the present invention is 1.3 to 3.5 according to the above manufacturing method. In general, / is in the range of 1.3 to 2.0, which is preferable in terms of the rebound resilience and heat generation properties of the resulting vulcanized rubber, and the balance between rebound resilience, heat generation properties, and processability is preferred. If you value it/
is preferably in the range of 2.0 to 3.0. Next, the characteristics of the rubbery polymer composition of the present invention will be described. The rubbery polymer composition of the present invention is prepared by adding various compounding agents such as carbon black, stearic acid, zinc white, and process oil, and vulcanizing the rubbery polymer composition with sulfur as a typical rubbery polymer. By making it into a so-called "vulcanized rubber" that is crosslinked with an agent, its characteristics can be exhibited. Hereinafter, the case where the rubbery polymer used in the present invention is used as the main raw material rubber for vulcanized rubber will be explained. The rubber-like polymer used in the present invention includes: (1) The rubber-like polymer used in the present invention alone, or at least one of the rubber-like polymers used in the present invention.
Raw material rubber (2) consisting of 30% by weight and other conjugated diene rubber-like polymers, reinforcing carbon black (3), aliphatic carboxylic acid (4), and sulfur as essential constituents are kneaded and vulcanized. Therefore, it can be suitably used for vulcanized rubber applications mainly for tire treads. When the above-mentioned rubbery polymer is used for such vulcanized rubber applications, the characteristic is that it can be coupled only with a trifunctional or more branching agent, such as SnC 4 shown in Japanese Patent Publication No. 44-4996. Compared to the case of using a polymer having the same Mooney viscosity that has undergone the above treatment, the processability of the compound is equivalent, and the vulcanized rubber has excellent rebound resilience and heat resistance. On the other hand, a polymer with the same Mooney viscosity simply added with a monofunctional or difunctional tin compound at the end is
The Mooney viscosity of the compound before vulcanization is higher than that when the rubbery polymer used in the present invention is used, and the molding processability is poor, so that the effect of adding a tin compound is difficult to exhibit. Furthermore, when a coupling treatment is not performed or when a monofunctional compound is added to the above-mentioned terminal end, a cold flow phenomenon in which the rubber flows is likely to occur, but such a phenomenon is difficult to occur with the rubbery polymer used in the present invention. This is advantageous in terms of storage and transportation of raw rubbery polymers. Furthermore, if a polymer with the same Mooney viscosity that has not been subjected to coupling treatment is used, the processability is not only inferior to that of the rubbery polymer used in the present invention, but also the repulsion of the vulcanized rubber is Poor elasticity or heat resistance. As mentioned above, the rubbery polymer composition of the present invention has
The result is a vulcanized rubber with improved compound molding processability, as well as excellent rebound and heat resistance properties, which are simultaneously unattainable using conventional raw rubber. This effect could not have been predicted from conventional knowledge in the industry. In particular, the rubbery polymer used in the present invention has a styrene content of 0 to 35% by weight, a 1,2-vinyl bond content of 10 to 80%, and a glass transition point of
Approximately -100°C to -5°C, more preferably -80°C to
In the case of polybutadiene or styrene-butadiene copolymer in the range of -30°C,
When used as vulcanized rubber, it has an excellent balance between its wet and skid properties and its impact resilience at the tire operating temperature, which is an indicator of tire rolling resistance. Rubbery polymers having a transition point are particularly suitable for automobile tire treads, where a balance between rolling resistance and wet skid properties is important. The reason why the rubbery polymer used in the present invention exhibits such effects when used for vulcanized rubber is as follows.
Although it is not always clear, when the rubbery polymer used in the present invention is used, there is more carbon gel in the formulation than when other rubbers are used, and this suggests that the interaction with carbon black may be more likely. It is presumed that there is a difference between the two. When the rubbery polymer used in the present invention is used as vulcanized rubber, examples of other raw material rubbers that may be used as necessary include natural rubber, polyisoprene rubber, high cis-polybutadiene rubber, and low cis-polybutadiene rubber. Typical examples include emulsion polymerized styrene-butadiene rubber, polychloroprene rubber, ethylene-propylene-diene copolymer rubber, butyl rubber, etc., and the amount thereof is 70% of the total rubber component.
less than 50% by weight, preferably less than 50% by weight. These may be used in vulcanized rubber as a blend of two or more types together with the rubbery polymer of the present invention. Next, various reinforcing carbon blacks are used with different manufacturing methods, particle sizes, particle size distributions, structure tints, etc., but ISAF,
Carbon black of each class HAF or FEF is used for general purposes. The effects of the present invention can be further enhanced by applying to the present invention an improved carbon black that produces an excellent vulcanized rubber when used in combination with ordinary rubber. The amount of carbon black used in the vulcanized rubber ranges from 35 to 90 parts by weight, preferably from 40 to 80 parts by weight, per 100 parts by weight of raw rubber. In addition, aliphatic carboxylic acids, of which stearic acid is a typical example, are used as vulcanization aids or processing aids in vulcanized rubber. Carboxylic acid is
This is a necessary component to break the bond between the polymer and tin, causing so-called "breakdown." The aliphatic carboxylic acid is usually used in an amount of 0.5 to 5 parts by weight per 100 parts by weight of raw rubber. Furthermore, sulfur is used as a vulcanizing agent in vulcanized rubber, and 0.1 to 2.5 parts by weight per 100 parts by weight of rubber.
Preferably, 1.0 to 2.2 parts by weight are used. In order to enhance the effect of sulfur as a vulcanizing agent, it is preferable to add a vulcanization accelerator, a vulcanization aid, or the like. Furthermore, various compounding agents can be added to the vulcanized rubber as needed. Examples of these compounding agents include softening agents such as process oil, various fillers other than carbon black, and zinc white. Examples include vulcanization aids, vulcanization accelerators such as sulfenamide-based, guanidine-based, and thiuram-based vulcanization agents, antioxidants or anti-aging agents, scorch inhibitors, and vulcanizing agents other than sulfur. These compounding agents are used in amounts depending on their intended use. The above-mentioned vulcanized rubber is kneaded by a rubber kneading machine such as a rubber kneading roll, an internal mixer, or an extruder, and then molded using a conventional method.
It is obtained by vulcanization at a temperature of °C for a predetermined period of time. As mentioned above, the rubbery polymer composition of the present invention is suitable for tire treads, and in addition to being used for each layer of a single layer or two or more tire treads, the rubbery polymer composition of the present invention can be applied to sidewalls,
Needless to say, it can also be used for the bead, other tire parts, and other vulcanized rubber applications. [Examples] Examples will be shown below, but these illustrate the present invention more specifically and do not limit the scope of the present invention. Example 1 and Comparative Example 1 4200 g of cyclohexane and purified butadiene were placed in a reactor with an internal volume of 10 equipped with a stirrer and a jacket.
850g, purified styrene 150g, and 40g of tetrahydrofuran as a polar compound were charged, and after maintaining the temperature at 60℃, n-butyllithium was added as a catalyst.
Add 0.6g to start polymerization, then maintain the polymerization temperature at 60 to 90°C and carry out the polymerization reaction for 40 minutes.
First, 0.244 g of tin tetrachloride (equivalent ratio to n-butyllithium) was added to the living polymer solution obtained.
0.4) followed immediately by 0.914 g of avian (n
-butyl)tin chloride (equivalent ratio to n-butyllithium 0.3) was added to carry out subsequent coupling and addition reactions. Furthermore, this polymer solution contains, as an antioxidant,
After adding 10 g of di-tert-butylhydroxytoluene, the solvent was evaporated and the polymer was recovered. The obtained polymer (sample A) had a Mooney viscosity (ML 100 °C 1+4 ) of 50, a styrene content of 15% by weight, and a microstructure of 35% 1.4-trans bonds, 22% 1.4-cis bonds, and 1.2 -The binding was 43%. The GPC (gel permeation, chromatography) curve of this polymer is as shown in Figure 1, and the coupling rate is 41% based on the area ratio of the high molecular weight part and the low molecular weight part of this curve. calculated. Furthermore, the results of measuring the tin content of the obtained polymer by atomic absorption spectrometry confirmed that the reaction was carried out almost as intended. Furthermore, from the calibration curve using standard polystyrene, Mw/Mn
= 1.63. The Mooney viscosity of the polymer before coupling was 14 and / was 1.10. Furthermore, in the same way as Sample A was obtained, using various polar compounds, coupling agents, etc., polymers within the scope of the present invention and A polymer was obtained for comparison. The analytical values are shown in Table 1. The styrene content and the microstructure of the butadiene moiety were determined by measuring the IR spectrum and calculating by Hampton's method. 加硫条件:160℃×20分[Table] Example 2 and Comparative Examples The formulation No. 1 shown in Table 2 and the various rubbery polymers in Table 3 were used as raw rubber and using a Banbury mixer for testing with an internal capacity of 1.7, ASTM-D-3403-
Blends were obtained by Method B of the standard blend mixing procedure of 75, and these were vulcanized and their physical properties were measured. The measurements were performed using the method shown below. (1) Hardness and tensile strength: Compliant with JIS-K-6301. (2) Repulsion: Liyupke method according to JIS-K-6301,
However, rebound resilience at 70℃ is measured by preheating the sample in a 70℃ oven for 1 hour and then quickly removing it. (3) Heat generation of stiffness Using a stiffness flexometer, load
Tests were conducted under the conditions of 48 pounds, displacement of 0.225 inches, starting temperature of 50 degrees Celsius, and rotation speed of 1800 rpm, and the difference in temperature rise after 20 minutes was expressed. (4) Wet skid resistance Using Stanley London's portable skid tester and using Safety Walk (manufactured by 3M) as the road surface, ASTM-E-808-
Measured according to the method of 74. It is expressed as an index with the measured value of SBR1502 set as 100. From the results shown in Table 3, the characteristics of the rubber polymer composition of the present invention are clear as follows. A comparison of Example 2-1 (Sample A) and Comparative Example 2-1 (Sample) shows that the rebound and heat generation properties are improved by using a tetrafunctional compound and a monofunctional compound together. . On the other hand, Comparative Example 2-2
(Sample J) has good rebound properties and heat generation properties, but the Mooney viscosity of the compound is high, the processability is poor, and the cold flow property is poor, showing the disadvantages of using only a monofunctional compound. Furthermore, Comparative Example 2-3 (Sample K) uses a tetrafunctional polymer with a high coupling rate compared to Example 2-2 (Sample B); is inferior. Furthermore, in Comparative Example 2-4, which used sample L in which tetrafunctionality and monofunctionality were used in combination, but the amount was outside the scope of the present invention, the impact improvement effect was not sufficient, and a coupling agent was used. Comparative Examples 2-5 and 2-6 of Sample M, which did not use silicon tetrachloride, and Sample N, which used silicon tetrachloride as a coupling agent, also had poor rebound properties and heat generation properties. Also, in a different microstructure, Example 2
As is clear from the comparison between Comparative Example 2-4 (Sample D) and Comparative Example 2-7 (Sample O), the effect of using the two types in combination is evident. In other examples, the effects of the present invention are exhibited, with high rebound and low heat build-up. The vulcanized rubbers of these examples have high rebound resilience and heat generation properties, which are measures of rolling resistance, and wet resistance.
It has a good balance with skid resistance and is particularly suitable for tires. It was 2.4. The Mooney viscosity of the polymer that came out of the first reactor was 40,/=2.2. Table 5 A blend of the obtained polymer was prepared in the same manner as in Example 2 using the blend No. 1 shown in Table 2, which was vulcanized, and its physical properties were measured. Table 6 Comparative Example 4 The same procedure as in Example 4 was carried out. However, only tin tetrachloride was added and reacted through the inlet located between the bottom and top of the second reactor. Comparing Example 4 and Comparative Example 4, both had good cold flow properties and excellent roll workability. Regarding the physical properties of the vulcanizate, it is clear that the wet skid resistance is the same, and the tensile strength, impact resilience, and loose heat generation are significantly improved in Example 4. Example 5 The same procedure as Example 4 was carried out. However, in Example 5, TMEDA was used instead of THF, and silicon tetrachloride was introduced at the bottom of the second reactor, and silicon tetrachloride was placed in the lower two-thirds between the bottom and top of the second reactor. Tri-butyltin chloride was introduced through the inlet. The obtained polymer (sample R) has a Mooney viscosity of

It was 2.5. The Mooney viscosity of the polymer that came out of the first reactor was 30/=2.3. (See Table 5) A blend of the obtained polymer was prepared in the same manner as in Example 2 using Blend No. 1 shown in Table 2, which was vulcanized, and its physical properties were measured. (See Table 6) Comparative Example 5 The same procedure as in Example 5 was carried out. However, only silicon tetrachloride was added and reacted through the inlet at the bottom of the second reactor. Comparing Example 5 and Comparative Example 5, both cold flow properties and roll processability were excellent. Regarding the physical properties of the vulcanizate, the wet skid resistance is the same,
It is clear that Example 5 has significantly improved tensile strength, rebound resilience, and heat generation due to stiffness.
