[Detailed Description of the Invention] [Industrial Application Field] The present invention relates to an improvement of a cable, such as a submarine cable, which is mainly made of iron and is covered with wire.

[Prior art] Submarine cables have generally been armored with iron wires that have high mechanical strength, but as the carrying current increases, iron loss due to induction into the iron wires becomes significant and the amount of heat generated increases. Therefore, even if the conductor cross-sectional area of the cable core is increased as the current increases, there is a problem in that the allowable current cannot be increased that much.

従来その問題点を解決する手段として、 (1) 鉄線がい装部の内側に銅線による帰路導体層

Conventionally, as a means to solve this problem, (1) a return conductor layer made of copper wire was attached to the inside of the iron wire sheathing, and by passing a return current there, the magnetic flux passing through the iron wire sheathing was canceled to some extent; (2) Those that use copper wire for the insulating wire have been adopted.

[Problems to be solved by the invention] Among the above measures, (1) is effective in increasing the allowable current, but it is not possible to separate the Since the cable is wound, the outer diameter of the cable increases, and the weight increases accordingly, making handling of the cable difficult. Furthermore, the manufacturing process increases by one step, resulting in an increase in cost. Although (2) has some effect in increasing the allowable current, it significantly reduces the mechanical strength of the sheathing and does not provide the mechanical protection of the cable, which is the original purpose of the sheathing. I had a problem that I couldn't solve.

In view of the problems of the prior art described above, the present invention
The object of the present invention is to provide a wire-insulated cable of this kind that enables a significant increase in power transmission capacity without significantly increasing the outer diameter and weight while maintaining mechanical strength.

[Means for Solving the Problems] In order to achieve the above object, the present invention provides a copper clad part or copper wire that is large enough to carry a return current on the seat provided around the cable core. The invention is characterized in that it is equipped with a reinforcement made of a copper-iron clad wire having a section.

The copper clad layer 6 and the copper wire 7 have a cross-sectional area equivalent to the size of the return current conductor, so to speak, to the extent that a return current can be carried.
The cross-sectional area of the wire should be selected so that the wire can have a required mechanical strength.

[Effects of the invention] As explained above, according to the copper-iron clad wire armored cable of the invention, the mechanical strength is sufficiently maintained in the iron wire or the iron clad part, and the copper clad part or By using the copper wire part as a return conductor part, the iron loss due to induction can be sufficiently reduced, and it can be implemented without significantly increasing the outer diameter weight, etc. The practical benefits of this invention are enormous, as it provides an economical armored cable that can achieve the above requirements, can be manufactured at low cost, and can greatly increase power transmission capacity.
